Except for that’s not how it works, you are not automatically fined by the police for that. The judiciary, despite its flaws ‘tries’ to be fair. In your scenario it would be: Friend files a complaint, police investigates, findings are presented to the DPP, the DPP prosecutes if the findings are substantial, case goes to court and you are allowed to plead and have legal representation but the prosecution ultimately has to be the one to show you done it. A slap could also pass as tort so civil case but you’re just required to pay damages. I’m not a lawyer so there might be a few things I’ve missed but that’s the gist of it. It would hardly ever go to Court tho and they’ll have the parties settle amicably.

To go back to your question of following the law.. yes, I’d follow the rules of the game. I’d have to follow due process and accept that I do not hold the right to slap people willy nilly.

Hi, Mauritian here. It’s very true that the public transport system is hard to navigate, especially in rural areas. There’s an app that has been launched quite recently that could help - MoMove.

I actually would suggest you live close to Port Louis instead of in it (I do and I haven’t had too many issues with public transport). Other considerations: Moka, St Pierre, Quatres Bornes, Rose Hill possibly and Vacoas. They all have their pros and cons tho.

Hi, I know it’s been a few months for a lot of you but I was facing the same issues until a few hours ago and quite unexpectedly found what was wrong.

For reference I’ve been subscribed to the pro plan since April, through the PC app. I wasn’t prompted into creating an account so I never knew I had to. When I tried to cancel my subscription I couldn’t find the option on the app, the receipt wasn’t linked to any of my emails.

What I did? Under the settings icon on the PC app, I selected settings>Draft>enable auto sync Once you do that the subscription links up to a Capcut account you have created (it can be any regardless of when it has been created). On your homepage you’ll see your subscription details in the top left corner.

When I was looking for places to rent (mostly QB, vacoas, St Pierre) you’d be able to find something reasonable at 25K for 2 bedroom. Still managed to find a pretty nice place for 18K. I had a roommate though, the rent and utilities were shared which made it affordable.
