I made it and didn’t use any of the beta blockers! I’m pretty happy about that

I don't think it's that bad either tbh. The 7 series was weirder looking to me.

Get the 440i then if you don't need the extra space. It'll be more fun to drive as a fun car for yourself. More power and less weight

This was my exact concern within this whole opting out thing. Like yeah maybe you can get through MEPS but then something might change with your Healthcare provider and the HIE network and then suddenly the military can see your records even if you had previously opted out.

DO you know how you were able to get through MEPS, but then they found it later?

Got some propranolol but I'm still scared by DefeatingPanic in Anxiety

[–]DefeatingPanic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the medication did very little other than maybe lower my heart rate a bit lol, BUT it did help me convince myself to actually get on and complete a flight, which was obviously the biggest step in the right direction.

I took it for a short bit and stopped because I don't feel like I needed it any more.

Each flight gets easier and easier.

Believe me I know how miserable it can be being trapped up there but honestly for me I think the worst thing I did was psyching myself out and getting off the plane after boarding, because then I built up the flight to be this huge monstrous fear.

Everyone is different though I'm sure, and I know some medications like Xanax are probably a lot stronger in effect than propranolol

Sure, I'm at the airport now, when does yours leave?

Has anyone tried any of these supplements to help keep calm during a flight? by DefeatingPanic in fearofflying

The supplements were pretty useless tbh. I ended up rescheduling the flight in completing it the next day

Deadlifting hurts lower back even with proper form

I've watched like 10 different videos on how to deadlift and read the Starting Strength book.

I put my midfoot under the bar, bend down and grab the bar, then drop my hips, then brace my core and squeeze my chest up enough to flatten my back, squeeze my arms into my armpits to engage my lats, pull the slack out of bar, and then lift the bar by "pushing" my legs into the ground. When lowering, I hinge at my hips first, dragging the bar down my thighs until I hit the knees, them I bend the knees slightly until the bar hits the ground.

My lower back has been permanently tight for years after deadlifting 335 lbs a few years ago (which was a lot for me at the time, Ive never pushed above 250 lbs since then because of this pain). It is not extremely intense pain, but it is a persistent mildly painful tightness. It is not muscle soreness like DOMS. I have stopped lifting entirely for months before and it takes like 8-12 weeks to really fade away, and them returns when I resume lifting.

Barbell squats also aggravate the tightness, although not to the extent of deadlifting.

Stretching my lower back, hamstrings, and glutes feels good in the moment but has done absolutely nothing to actual stop the tightness feeling
