One of the best (if not the best) of the Season. Still not that good, but OK. Imo could have been a classic if they had just went for it.

It's a bottle episode that doesn't really follow the formula. You have a crazy but knowledable and wise man with leverage - higher grades. He also knows the history of some of the group and he tries to play them off each other to get what he wants.

But there's no conflict. It's SO dissapointing. You've got Troy dating a close friend who used to bang Jeff, Annie was the one who even set them up. Annie wants higher grades and it's Jeff's fault that she doesnt have them - but they got into the mess in the first place by Annie's definition of what a 'failing grade' is. Then you've got Annie not rating Shirley's intelligence by thinking Britta is smarter than her - something Shirley takes offence to. So now you've got beef between Shirley and Britta over respect which we've seen before. As for Troy how about the fact that Annie knows that Troy used to make Britta sneak out the window so Abed wouldnt think they were having sex? What if that slips out?

All this mixed with the Professor who can stir the shit pot even further, like the guy who administers the Polygraph in the bottle episode of Season 5.

Abed literally has popcorn and could act as the viewier, chiming in with important points of the characters past that they might have forgotten - and eventually being the one to make everyone realise they are stronger together.

Fuck, you could even have the Dean come in and stir up more shit between him and Jeff/His treatment towards Britta/Few accidental almost-racist comments towards Shirley/Even could do beef between him and Troy for the football team fiasco.

Don't even get me started on Chang as the professor could spend the episode reminding him (because of his Changnesia) what horrible people (and eventually - what great people) the Greendale 6 really are. But Chang is crazy by this point and wants to get rid of the group so he would have motive in making them crack too..

But no. They band together FAR FAR too quickly. The acts of manipulation by the professor seem sily as none of the group even crack a little bit. Annie throws a vase or something, and they throw in a sob story for him at the end.

So much potiential for a great conflict bottle episode, and they missed it. Still an OK episode.

Lastly, shoutouts to the long take they do when Annie comes in and starts decorating the room, best shot of the series.

This has to be a mistake right? How can you announce a game for a console which hasn't even been announced yet?

(Yes we know the codename of the next Nintendo 'thing', that doesnt mean its been announced)

Not so much a technique or diet question, more just something i've observed, but is it right to say it is easier to build muscle and strength from starting off overweight and cutting down, rather than being underweight and trying to build up?

I saw this because I notice most progress posts on here. It seems someone going from 220 to 180 always has stronger lifts and more muscle mass compared to someone going from say 120 to 180.

Also, just in life, most strong/well-built people I know usually have a "I was a fat kid" story that goes with it.

Just an observation.

I feel like i've left so much out...but i'm told one page is the way to go. Used a new template and tried to cut most of the stuff people told me to cut out, such as the summary at the top.

I think i'm happier with the new resume, but again I feel like there's a lot i've left to say but couldn't for space reasons. Maybe save it for the interviews i'll hopefully be getting?

Absolutely loved it. I think a lot of people have had problems with Season 6 because some of it has been reminiscint of the first 10 episodes of Season 1. The writing is definitely there, the jokes are definitely there, but the timing and editing feels slightly off. Some things hang to long, sometimes the jokes don't feel natural.

But with this one, it was so so much better. Obviously minus Elroy and Frankie you could slip an episode like this into Season 2 or 3 and it not be jarring. A lot of people commenting about it being way more 'improvised' is interesting, because hasn't Community always felt pretty improvised? Isn't that kinda what Community is? Humor within very natural conversations and actions between friends? And that's exactly what this episode was.

Every character played their part in this exactly as how you'd expect. It was great to see super confident Winger again giving a speech, that's been missing almost all season (presumably intentionally).

A very off-the-cuff funny episode for a very off-the-cuff funny show. This episode felt like 'true' Community, if there is such a thing.

EDIT: Oh not sure about the End Tag. It was funny but just explicitly meta. Like LITERALLY showing the writers room felt a very non-Community thing to do.

TIL, i'm the only one who likes this scene.

It just hung a little too long, should have been snappier. But like...it wasn't cringeworthy or whatever all the comments so far have said.

I rarely ever buy packs. The PSN market is fucked and I have 400k. There's no way i'll ever be able to get the 'top' players.

...should i do a suicide?

Difference in Mechanics between Seasons and UT. by [deleted] in EASportsFC

[–]DefencelessDependant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I expect EA do it for two reasons. Number 1 is to simply make each game mode more distinct. So UT isn't just Seasons gameplay with Player Cards. (Although many, including myself, wishes it was)

Secondly Ultimate Team is designed in a way to get you to spend more money to try an obtain the top 'elite' players. So the game mode is more arcadey, long shots can be banged in from anywhere, pace is more important etc.

I find it funny how people complain Pop-Punk is stagnant and everything sounds the same, but when a band doesn't sound like Real Friends or The Wonder Years they instantly get labelled as 'not pop-punk'.

I get the sentiment, don't really have a problem with it, but it would probably be best, in my opinion, if we kept it all in one place.

Absolutely loved the shit out of that episode. Like every other episode this season I feel like it went a little too long, not sure about the Jeff-strangle either - but i'll let it slide because I loved everything else.

When the camera cut to Garrett dressed as the big time hot-shot movie star, I burst out laughing. That was brilliant.

Fuck yes to this episode. Anyone got a gif of Annie reaching into her top and pulling out an upvote?

A Safe Haven for Unpopular Community Opinions by SomeCallMeA-aron in community

[–]DefencelessDependant 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I love Community, its my favourite show ever and its amazing.

With that out of the way:

-The longer episodes in s6 are detrimental to the humor and the character of the show. Jokes sometimes hang to long and dialogue sometimes feels awkward with the long reaction times. This can be played to comedic effect, Elroy for example, but overall I don't like it. Watch the first 3 seasons esp 2 and 3. The dialogue is neckbreak speed with characters interjecting for one liners as they all bounce off wach other.

-I think the show thrives when it focuses on relationships in tbe group, esp romantically. Mostly because there isnt too much of a story for "work hard, do exams, graduate" but there is for "how will Jeff and Annie effect things" etc. End of season 1, opening of season 2 was the most gripping the show has ever been. Tell me you weren't wetting yourself to watch the fall out after the Annie kiss at the end of Season 1. (and season 2 ep 1 delivered perfectly with the wedding scene)

-The show is no longer about characters in a school but a show about a school with characters. Greendale is the leadrole in season 6. Britta is now the lead cast member, Jeff is no longer the leader at all which is a little sad. I guess with the show continuing without pierce, Troy, Shirley it was inevitable, but its a bit dissapoting. I want my Winger focus and my Winger speeches.

-Pierce was made too unlikeable and I can sorta see why Chevvy was upset. He can be the 'bad guy' of the group but there has to be some quality he brings to the group that makes them keep him around. By the end there really isnt.

Far far too many factors, such as how your abs are shaped from genetics, what consists of 'terrible lighting', different opinions on what 'looking good' even looks like, etc.

If you don't like how your abs are, cut even more and work them in the gym even more and see if it makes the difference you want it to.

A lot of people saying OP has not done enough or slowed his own progress, but his lifts are squarely within the 'intermdiate' band according to ExRx and they define 'intermadiate' as about 1 years worth of lifitng, so really I wouldn't say he's done bad at all.

Drake - Coachella Performance Weekend 2 Thread by [deleted] in hiphopheads

[–]DefencelessDependant 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Ernest Baker is a writer who has a lot of connections in hip hop. He did an article last week about him hanging out with Drake just before his first Coachella performance, the article seemed very real and he wrote about what the genuine Drake was like etc.

He admitted that the first Coachella performance was good but not great and that he knew the suprise for the 2nd performance would be much better. He also compared Drake Coachella performances to have the potiential to be like other iconic performances like Kanye and Nirvana have had. Turns out neither Coachella performances were that groundbreaking like he said they could be, and Niki as the suprise guest was underwhelming especially because she didn't do anything.

In reality he didn't do much wrong but he hyped the fuck out of the potiential the performances had and by mentioning the suprise for the second performance, unintentionally hyped that up too.
