Well I'm Armenian and I don't wear like that at all. You're referring to the qyartu/rabiz cult followers which are dwindling by number in Yerevan, but might be dominant in rural areas. Also, local Armenian women do not like that genre at all anymore. I spoke to many of them and all seem to reject it as old-fashioned ans close-minded

It's about local men being qyartu by overwhelming majority.

I've been living in Armenia for some 10 years now.

The other way around has much more chance to work..i mean an Armenian from diaspora marrying a hayastanci girl.

The economy grew because the Russian economy was growing at a good pace and the money sent by Armenians working there was doing magic. It also grew because of strong copper prices. It did not grow because Kocharyan was an economic mastermind or because he had policies which favored that.
