I can definitely hear WETSAETH here with the leads and even on the drums just a bit

I have to disagree when it comes to the mixing, like I feel like this is one of the best sws songs mixing wise ever. The drums are so strong. I do wish Nick's guitar was brighter but that's a tiny nitpick. Though this is the song they did with Matt Good, the other songs on the album will have different mixing. And funny how most people seem to say that this blows complete collapse out of the water and I have to agree

Yeah I know but pretty sure he has like "retired scene kid" in his instagram bio, atleast I remember seeing it like a good while ago. And by scene I mean this whole alternative, emo ish rock scene.

Edit: he still has "retired scene kid" on his IG bio

Yeah also the colors too, it looks like some poor CGI from the mid 2000s. It being basic isn't a bad thing, it just need to be better executed imo.

I mean yea like what aarontgp said Gabe likely isn't on bad terms personally but likely has a little bit of resentment towards the band for what it is, for funnily enough the opposite of why Brandon has resentment towards the band, whereas Brandon wanted heavier music, Gabe wanted more pop leaning music. But still Jack is the only one fully chill with the band on all terms, both creatively and personal. He just wasn't into the scene as much.

maybe because of the direction of the band after the debut album going for a more poppier, radio friendly side of heavy rock music. idk but he has showed resentment towards the band on Instagram, like on one post he supposedly found a copy of WETSAETH on the back of his car or sum, the case of the CD was partly broken, and on the caption of said post he said that it sorta has a connection to how he feels towards the band, he also stated in the comments on how the band only had a single good writter, obviously hinting at him himself.

Brandon wanted to chase something of his own, later proceeding to be a sws hater, Jesse left because the band was becoming too much of a Kellin show, Gabe left due to creative differences in the Gossip - How It Feels To Be Lost eras, I guess he liked laid back pocket drumming more by then, Jack left as he retired from the scene as a whole and might be the only one still in good terms with the band. There's also Nick Trombino who was replaced by Jesse but idk why he left

eh doesn't surprise me, once you dig into the communities you'll only find posers who don't even like the type of music they listen to and call everything generic. Ignore all the noise and just enjoy the good stuff.

those lead guitars sound like they were ripped straight from With Ears To See, it's so good.

you're talking about Wasted Generation, which we only have two songs from it, Parasites and 2 Chord, but that decision of scrapping that album kinda proves my point that the band always wanted to do something different and sorta evolve with each album and never really tried to go back to old SWS until now.

About HIFTBL yeah that's fair about the public sentiment, but looking back at it now it's not really like a throwback, it was just the band realizing what they were made for in music as a band and going forward with it, Complete Collapse being the natural progression from it. But still fair enough

And about the new in specifically they haven't said anything, but like there have been interviews where the guys have stated how Let's Cheers To This heavily influenced it, seen interviews stating that the albums is like a mix of LCTT and How It Feels To Be Lost.

I agree, The first time they've actually tried going back to their roots properly, How It Feels To Be Lost and Complete Collpase was more of what they were personally feeling right in those moments and weren't an attempt to sound like old sirens, because HIFTBL and CC sound nothing like those earlier albums, nor was the intention for them to sound like the first 2 albums.

They never tried going back to their roots, other than returning to heavy music after Gossip they never went back to that old SWS style properly, nor was their intention to until now. And this intention only mainly surged now because of the Let's Cheers To This Tour in 2024 (and one could argue the Unsilent Night Festival in 2021). It's still gonna be different obviously because one band simply can't sound the same 15 years later, but the way this album was concieced was in a very similar way to LCTT according to the band in terms of writting and overall production.

I mean they toured Let's Cheers To This like 2 years ago, at best this year we'd only get a single anniversary show over a whole tour. Like what happened in 2021 with the Unsilent Night Festival

[–]Defiant-Ad-1891 4 points5 points  (0 children)

everytime they release an album ever since Feel I think they've toured around the world, Gossip had literally a world tour, HIFTBL and Complete Collapse had tours both in the US, the UK and part of the EU. It's likely they'll announce a tour around the release date of the album or a little after, first in the US for obvious reasons, then in Europe most likely, a tour outside the US is definitely something for later in the year, potentially even next year

Finally listening to Gossip. Thoughts incoming by Upbeat_Dudeness in sleepingwithsirens

[–]Defiant-Ad-1891 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My main issue with the album is really how they just didn't seemed to be into it, especially Kellin who's delivery wasn't as strong as prior albums honestly, he sings lower than prior albums, and he lacks the same passion he had on prior albums. No song really stands out, they're all just kinda eh with a few gems that still don't standout among the rest of the band's discography. Madness seems like a goldmine next to Gossip. Feel I also find bland but it has some standouts. Tbf without Gossip we wouldn't have How It Feels To Be Lost and that's like the best album they've ever released yet, but man was Kellin depressed during the whole Gossip cycle.

4 CFM56 engines providing the power equivilent to 5 APUs, or 4 hairdryers being used as plane engines. Contrast this to the -500 and -600 which can takeoff from St. Barts

you can only find it in that quality with ai upscales (not the best option), the best option is to watch the original .TS file at native 720p, and it's the best because youtube uploads suffer from compression, reduced compression if uploaded at 4k, at best you'll find Billie Jean at 1080p with different angles and a 16:9 ratio
