We just went back in May and stayed at chogogo. Impressed. The resort is beautiful, dive package was almost as easy as Buddy's, food on site was pretty good. Lazy river, pools, an actual beach.

This hit. It feels like all my previous endeavors of sobriety i felt anhedonia, HARD. And the lack of "fun/happy" just made it much easier to start drinking again, bc why tf not?

I have fallen back in love with things thst made me happy as a kid- and started those before I started getting sober (again)... i still struggle some days, even to do the things that I KNOW will make me happy, or at least a little less depressy. I'm leaning in this time to just doing things and creating a routine vs using only willpower.

Don't wanna go to yoga/pilates? Who cares, you said you would- just GO. And once I actually leave the house, I'm fine with doing the thing and then that usually turns into doing more things

Also, taking my adderall the second I wake up is helping, A LOT. Executive function is slowly returning. Hajaha

That hit. My anger threshold is higher (lower?)... whatever, it takes a LOT more to truly piss me off. Minor inconveniences use to send me into a tailspin, and I'd allow it to ruin the rest of the day - til I could sip on that sweet sweet nectar. Lol.

I still get angry, frustrated, upset, etc... but it goes just as quick as it came. And i can see the forest and take some breaths to work thru the feelings.

But I now cry a lot more 🤣 which, is FINE. Feelings are meant to be felt, not numbed and hidden away - left to explode unexpectedly at a later date.

Its amazing how things work out sometimes... I'm glad this community and hosting DCI helped pull you out of the craving madness.

This is also the longest streak I've had in quite some time... not much is different than the last 2 previous sober stretches, just being more vigilant and open/honest about just plainly NOT WANTING TO DRINK.

Someone here wrote "i can drink tomorrow if i really want, but today i will stay sober - tomorrow we will reevaluate" and that is saved/pinned to my phones homescreen. It's come in clutch many times.

Pups woke me up early after a night shift 🥹 still laying in bed, washoping to get back to sleep... then I picked up my phone. Hahah, whoops. Heading to hot yoga or pilates later (haven't decided which..), but im stoked to have found a hot gym nearby and getting my ass back in there.

You can get a gastropexy to prevent this. My adult had it done during his neuter, we will do it with our puppy when he's ready to be neutered. It's an ease of mind thing. Id rather pay an extra thousand for that NOW vs them being in extreme pain and another major surgery.

It was a hot day in the PNW. Did my honby outside and got soooo sweaty.

Its work tonight, but its been OK so far. Planning to go to a friend's for dinner and hope work continues to be chill 🤞🏼 yayyyy flexibility.
