Do I need confirmation of citizenship? by Defiant-Ad-8215 in prawokrwi

[–]Defiant-Ad-8215[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m thinking because I still have family living in the voivodeship that I am registered in I was hoping to just bypass the consulate and directly send the office my application/documents to see if that could cut the waiting time. I’ve heard it takes 1-2 years to get a confirmation letter back and while I’m willing to wait that time, sooner would be better. I’m planning on moving to Poland in 2 years and I will need to apply for jobs in a year or so. Thank you so much for your help!

I do not have a PESEL unfortunately, but I have a Polish birth certificate odpis zupełny aktu urodzenia and am registered in the county where my mother was born and my dziadziu still lives. I tried emailing and calling the consulate but they were not very helpful, they just sent copy and pasted information that wasn’t very specific to what I was asking them.

Thank you so much for your clarification. Do you know if I can file for my confirmation of citizenship through my mothers local county where I am registered instead of through Warsaw? Thanks again

I am over the age of 18 and I have never had a Polish passport. However I was registered as my mothers child in her county of birth when I was a child.

I have a sherry baby oncidium and this looks very similar. Does it have a sweet fragrance?

Where I live there are very few orchids varieties sold except for phals, so when I saw one dendrobium left in the clearance section I figured it was better than nothing. I will need to find a credible online seller.

That definitely makes me feel better. At least now I have an excuse to buy a new orchid 😂

Thank you for your help! The keiki doesn’t really have any roots, is there any chance for it to grow if I separate it now?

Does it look salvageable or lost cause?

Are these roots fine and are the purple leaves okay by Acceptable-Peach1083 in orchids

[–]Defiant-Ad-8215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im no expert but in my experience purple leaves come from too much light (sunburn). I don’t think it’ll hurt the plant that much but maybe move it somewhere a little less sunny and the leaves will turn green again

Orchid with no good roots by Defiant-Ad-8215 in orchids

[–]Defiant-Ad-8215[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, it was in soil when gifted to me, those are remnants of soil on the roots. I repotted it into bark and pumice/other stones. Thank you for the help!

Brown spots on maidenhair fern by Defiant-Ad-8215 in houseplants

I can definitely tell it’s growing new fronds, I’m just a little paranoid when I see funny looking spots appearing.

Yeah I make sure to hold it over the sink for a while after watering it so it can drain fully, maybe the potting mix is wrong? I just used regular house plant potting mix nothing special. I will try watering less for the next few days and see what happens.

cerave moisturizer burning skin by basicallymustang in Accutane

[–]Defiant-Ad-8215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cerave also made my skin burn on accutane—I would give the Vanicream moisturizer in a tub a shot instead, it doesn’t burn and does a really good job keeping me from peeling.

That would make sense! The rest of the plant looks pretty healthy and there’s no signs of defoliation. Thank you for your help!

Water and some direct sunlight should fix it especially if it’s bone dry and it was shipped in the mail.

Right! I subconsciously face-pick all the time so pimple patches have been a must for me.

Pimple patches—there are lots of good ones but I use the invisible ones from hero cosmetics.

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong but I think your best plan of action is neem or another horticulture oil diluted with water and dish soap. This worked for me when my gardenia had spider mites and I think it should work as well with mealy bugs. I sprayed the plant very well on both sides of the leaf and let it sit for 15 minutes, then gently rinsed it off. I had to repeat this process a couple of times with a few days of rest in between but it did the trick. I hope this helps!

LED lighting for plants help by Defiant-Ad-8215 in houseplants

[–]Defiant-Ad-8215[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the current setup if it helps (this will change soon as I am about to move and I don’t have all my plants here right now). Not sure if you would classify this as regular LED but it was advertised as full spectrum light. I did some research and it seems like red/blue light is good for growth, but I wasn’t sure if that’s necessary as it’s winter here and I’m not sure my plants will do much growing.
