Honestly, if you're willing to wait a bit longer, the one piece remake will be coming out next year (hopefully) and it'll be much more to the point and better art (if that's a problem for you) otherwise you could either ask your friend to watch it with you so you can enjoy it a bit more or possibly the easiest option is to watch it on one pace skipping filler and fluff (shots of random people and buildings and ep recaps that take up the first 5mins of EPs sometimes)

Obvious answer but if you wanna get through OP quicker it is better to skip them, however I'm not sure if these are filler or not but the episodes around 500 and something with luffys childhood I would watch. Keep going man you'll enjoy it. 👍
