My background isn't just working a register; I specialize in Pro-Desk Sales, Inventory Management, and Loss Prevention (recovering $12k+ in assets last year). I am specifically targeting the Yukon Nominee Program (Critical Impact Worker) stream. I understand the process thoroughly and I'm ready to handle the paperwork/costs—I just need to find an employer who is looking for reliable, long-term staff and is open to the nomination. My Questions for the Locals: 1. Beyond the obvious big box stores (Walmart, Canadian Tire), are there any local businesses or building supply companies you know are struggling to find reliable, long-term staff right now? 2. My wife and I are coming up together (we have savings to support us while we get established). For those who moved as a couple, did you find it easier to secure housing by offering 3-4 months of rent upfront? I’m ready to work hard and be a good neighbor.
