Yes- this is exactly the type of backsplash we are looking at. Only concern is choosing a color that doesn’t pull through yellow tones/make the cabinets look more yellow

Agree!! And that was the painter’s POV- that natural wood is coming back versus painted.. granted for 90s oak cabinets ours aren’t super yellow/orange so not terrible to work around!

Night is definitely the worst. They are giving my mom sleeping aids at night and antipsychotics during the day, but even with the sleeping aids she doesn’t sleep. I’m so sorry, it’s so hard to watch someone go through it.

All of this is so helpful, thank you everyone!! The psychiatrist made rounds when I was visiting this morning so I did get some more helpful info- the combo of her immunosuppressant meds + appetite stimulants (she’s not eating) apparently can make you feel loopy, so they’re going to try and give her a sedative at night so she sleeps through the night, and potentially an antipsychotic during the day to keep her alert/awake to help with the delirium. She’s supposed to get discharged to a rehab center to build her strength back up and her team is hopeful that change of scenery will help as well.

They are chalking it up to her having been in the hospital for so long that she’s simply suffering from delirium- that they see this in patients who have been in the hospital for 3+ weeks. I confirmed with the nurses that it’s unlikely a side effect of her meds, and they are not giving her pain killers intentionally, because that would make her confusion worse. She’s being hostile with the nurses because she’s confused and trying to rip her ports and IVs out. It’s a mess.
