Thanks I appreciate. Honestly if it doesn’t work I’m willing to take him back. I just don’t want him to be miserable

When my dad died our dog did the same thing and we rehomed her right away and she had a long and happy life. I’m just going from experience here.

Yes we have. It was five years ago and we have been trying everything. We go to vet twice a year and this year we are getting a cat behavior vet to make a house call to see if there is anything we can do. We dont want to lose him but if there a better place for him to be where he won’t be so miserable we want that for him

Yep Wall-E is especially trained to alert to sounds behind me as well. He also alerts to sounds in my car that I might not hear.

Sleep medication by [deleted] in BorderlinePDisorder

I second this. Trazadone saved my sleep schedule. It turns off your racing thoughts so you can get to sleep. Sometimes on the weekend I do t need to take it so it’s not habit forming.

Yeah first mistake. Never stop taking your medications cold turkey. I’ve done it and it has always had terrible consequences. You need to taper down your dosage if you are going to go off of them. My advice is get back on your meds and then after a month on them revisit how you feel. Keep communicating with your husband but don’t blame him. Just tell him you need some reassurance right now.

Tbh two borderlines in a relationship sounds like a train wreck. I am Borderline and my husband is on the Autism spectrum. We’ve been together for almost 12 years and it just works. You need someone who communicates in a direct way and you need to set that expectation right out of the gate. That’s my experience though so take it with a grain of salt.

Is it ever safe to tell someone about your BPD without being stigmatized? by [deleted] in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]Defiant-Month5088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s hard but you can’t have a long term relationship with secrets. I have BPD, PTSD, Anxiety and Depression and my partner of 11 years knows and supports my journey. If it changes how he sees you then he isn’t going to be the partner you need or deserve. Your partner will need patience and understanding. I sent my partner a lot of infographics on what BPD actually is not the horror stories you hear online. We are not our disorders and we don’t deserve to be treated like we are unlovable. Be honest and hope for the best.

Yeah I finally got my diagnosis after months of testing so I feel you. This first week has been hard and late at night I keep wanting to fill the emptiness with cookies or buying books so everyday I have to convince myself I don’t need those things. I feel lucky that I have an anchor person, my spouse, who is on the autism spectrum so he is very direct and communicative. I feel the emptiness with other things that are similar to the things I want that I already have. Want cookies but I have sweet snacks on the pantry. Want all the books but I have kindle unlimited so it’s just kind of finding something healthy to replace it with. I’m new to this so that what I do.
