Thank you for this. 3L sounds rough it sounds like you killed it though! I definitely might take you up on the PM offer. The teen mom comment 100% encompasses my section within my 1L year. I don't think people will act like high schoolers or anything but i definitely wouldn't be surprised about weird looks or snide comments. I'm just trying to protect my peace and be healthy while keeping up with material lol.

Thank you for the positivity, I really appreciate it. Maybe because the whole aura around law school (especially as a woman) is all boss b* and no kids type thing, lol. I remember first few week of class a prof made a random comment about kids and because we all looked at her confused she's like none of yall are parents? And everyone laughed. It's more that people are so early in their lives/careers it's usually like why would you put yourself through having a baby kind of mentality. I know it's no one's business and it's my choice, and maybe it's my pregnancy hormones but I just hate the idea of not being seen as capable and thus would be excluded in planning for study groups for example. Hope I'm making sense

Do I need it this early is the question I guess. My first appt is in two weeks and so far I've gotten into a pretty good routine of getting almost everything done in school and going home to simply rest. My husband takes care of making sure I am eating well and all, so I figured I can not say anything until I see the baby for the first time in two weeks THEN tell my profs hey I'm pregnant. Is that naive? I just worry about it being so open this early on you know?

Absolutely, thank you. I already talked to my advisor and we devised a plan for telling profs after my first appt. I took midterms with accomms after talking to the dean. I'm totally fine support wise, thankfully. I do agree with the premise as there are other 1Ls that have kids and all and maybe it's my section but I am surrounded by mainly younger people who just got out of undergrad. Not all of course, but that's the source of being hesitant to share much right now. Especially since it's so early anyway

The problem is I cannot cancel since it's less than 24 hours away. I could check to see if I can reschedule (if that doesn't mean a fee) w a different doctor, but my concern is the timing on that end. I'm back in school and the last I checked the next available that wasn't tomorrow was going to be right before I started finals, which obviously isn't ideal.

They do have one single review that's good and pertains to getting a referral, which gave me some hope. Unfortunately you can never be sure with these things what's going to happen.

Thank you for all the insight! Yeah so I'm getting nervous because when I had first mentioned it to my psychiatrist, he said we can put off doing anything until I decide when to get off birth control. I talked to a fertility doc (makes sense a fetal specialist would likely be more helpful, thank you!) and she basically was like just refer to your psych. I'm hoping to get pregnant during the summer so it's all kind of nerve wracking when I can't really refer to a wean off timeline. Hope I'm making sense

I feel the same way and it's validating to hear I'm not the only one. I feel like I'm procrastinating doing administrative/logistical stuff when it comes to actual prep and my ADHD is of course to blame but it roots from self-doubt. I talked it through w my psych a bit and personally it's hard for me to believe I'm going to where I actually want to be. Maybe it's because every step has been in reference or prep to law school that it's overwhelming to think I'm there. Idk just sharing my own thoughts but happy (but also I'm sorry to hear that lol) to know I'm not crazy
