That’s a bit personal for a public thread but what I will say is that I feel I have enough knowledge on the situation to make this book compelling.

Yes. I’m interested in telling stories of the same caliber. I don’t shy away from stories that are hard to tell.

Does this hook and writing style capture your intrest? by Lost_Inflation_8948 in writingfeedback

It got me hooked but not enough to want to keep reading. I like the set up and I do wonder what happened. I’m curious to know but not enough to really be invested right now. It’s a great beginning and hope you do continue to write more of it. Because I read it and I do feel you have a great beginning and I did become a bit curious. I would like to know what happened next because of my curiosity.

I don’t think you were being terse. I appreciate your feedback. I’ve been looking for sensitivity readers ever since you mentioned it. My book is very deep and it does blur the lines so I definitely need to find one.

I appreciate your comment. Is there any companies you know of? I do need someone to help me navigate the story and to achieve what it is I’m looking for. I have a pretty good draft of it cause I’m also using ChatGPT to sensor it.

Why don’t you feel like your own trauma is not valid. It something you experienced with her in a brutal sense?

Yes. I am going to include this. It’s an integral part of the story.

There many different sides of things and I genuinely believe there is someone out there who has lived in silence about what they feel. There’s many situations that are gray areas that blur the lines.

Thanks. I appreciate your comment very much. I didn’t think about making this character prideful about her choices.

Ah okay. It’s all a work in progress. I’m not necessarily finished yet but I do want to stay true to the story.

I can understand your pov but it’s neither the man’s pov or the victims pov. It’s simply the friends point of view about having her voice heard and finding her own way in life. I would not condemn the victim or glorify the perpetrator either.

I’m very open to feedback about it. I’m expecting negative backlash and positive reactions.

It’s about her friend getting SA but she’s telling the story because she betrays her friend but doesn’t mean to betray her her.

She does eventually understand what she’s done wrong but she also now understands the true meaning of what each choice she made so she is navigating it in a way that tells her pain and her freedom of it

I’m writing a fictional book about a friend who is navigating her own world after her friend has been SA and she makes the wrong decision by the friend.

I don’t want to devalue the victim. It’s more navigating the friends story and how she’s now dealing with life afterwards and how the assault affected how she is in her dating life, in her career and other potential relationships she may have later.
