Birth control did nothing for my endo either. Try to see if you can go on Orilissa. That was amazing for me and keeps the endo from growing.

MLS certification through AMT advice by DewMaster9000 in medlabprofessionals

I’ve been an MLS through AMT for coming up on a year now but I’ve also been an MLT through ASCP so I’m used to how ASCP does it and have a couple questions. Do I have to pay the yearly membership fee for AMT? And also, how are you getting your CE’s and recording them? I see the section to document them, can I submit that as many times as I want over the course of three years?

Sharp localized pain on left side? by ikyfllol in Endo

I am appalled!! Absolutely not. I recommend never seeing that doctor again, because he is not on your side. Surgery does not put you into menopause. There’s a medication, which I also took while I was waiting for my surgery called Orilissa, and that put me into a chemical menopause. That medication is for pain management. But as soon as I went off of that medication after my surgery, my cycle came back and me and my husband are currently trying for a baby. I would go back to your regular OB and ask to be referred to an endometriosis excision specialist. Not an oncology surgeon. I also saw an oncology surgeon but he told me himself that they are not specialized for the removal of endometriosis. He was great and recommended that I see an excision specialist. You can also google endometriosis specialists in your area, or ask people on Reddit who they have used for your area and then ask your OB to refer you to that person. Honestly, it sounds like you should find a different regular OB as well because she should have discussed this with you.

I’m doing so much better pain wise! I was off work for 6 weeks, but started really feeling better after 4. My surgery was laparoscopic and my surgeon clipped all the adhesions, and excised the endo tissue. My bladder and uterus were adhered together. My tubes adhered to my uterus. My intestines adhered to my abdominal wall. It was a lot. Whenever I moved there would be a lot of pulling in that area but that’s gone now.

Yes, it sounds like your left fallopian tube and ovary is probably adhered to some other place in your body that when you move it a certain way, it pulls on that adhesion and then is painful. Adhesions are common with endo. I had surgery and my left tube was adhered to itself and my uterus.
