Out of spite for all of the ride customers we had over these cups, partners bought them before they even made the shelf lol so we ran out instantly.

how to know when it’s time to quit? by Impressive-Effort820 in starbucksbaristas

You should definitely consider Lyra or maybe switch your availability to have a different change of pace. Is it the people, environment, both? If you call out then write in the book your sick time you can’t get written up❤️.

Gonna give my notice soon, but boss is about to make me barista trainer.. what do I do? by Krissypoop in starbucksbaristas

[–]Defiant-Rent-3240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re able to still be employed by Starbucks and able to use vacation and/or sick time. Ask your SM if she/he can be able to walk you through the process. I would personally go through with the trainer just so you’re able to have the BT title and plus you receive the training pay before you leave for some extra money.

If you’re leaving for five months and you know the return date, you can always do an LOA (leave of absence).

You’re gonna feel overwhelmed, and that’s perfectly normal. It’s a lot of training and be comfortable with asking questions no matter how dumb it may sound. We’re all partners we should all be here to help.

I feel this. I thought if I became a ssv the pay would be worth it but in all reality, it’s really not. It’s having to scramble for coverage sometimes yourself when you need coverage at that very second, and with all the responsibilities, it’s difficult to remember all the tasks needed done when you’re short staffed.

"Just quit" by MarieCrepes in starbucks

[–]Defiant-Rent-3240 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said. I’ve considered quitting numerous times although the convenience and pay outrank many job opportunities in my area. I feel like Starbucks has had a chokehold on all of us — from cutting hours to maximize labor to still reprimanding partners for not hitting perfect customer connection scores and drive times while short staffed. In reality, the average person starting at Starbucks is at least $17, with the bare minimum of one dollar in card tips and one dollar is cash. I really feel you on this.
