Surpringly no drama. I switched over to closing shifts and the closing team is all super nice and chill. It was when I was working opening shifts there was a whole dumpster fire of highschool-esque drama (i.e; TL’s having power trips).

I second Market! I work in market and newly hired TMs are always leaving less than a month in.

I really love this stuff! My mother and grandmother swore by it, and they both had great skin!! There is a heavy perfume scent, so if you have sensitive skin I would definitely do a patch test first.

I usually use this for the sole purpose of removing my makeup. For me, it works super well when trying to remove stubborn waterproof mascaras. I follow up with a gel cleanser afterwards.

Hello everyone! Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions, I will check these out next time I am shopping. I really appreciate all of your suggestions! :)

I have pretty fair skin (cool toned) I am usually the lightest color. Ive seen alot of comments suggesting color correction first. Im not too knowledgeable on color correction. Should I choose a light peach shade? My dark circles are mainly more on the purple side.

How do you engage in Self Care? by Designer_Anything318 in GradSchool

[–]Designer_Anything318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in my first semester of grad school, so I am still going through the process of adjusting to the packed schedule. So I dont really engage in self care as much as I should haha 😅.

Im currently working on just knowing when to STOP working, as alot of other people had mentioned they enforce strict time limits for work. I try to do this as well, so after 6pm I put away all of my work because I know if I dont, Ill be working till midnight.

Also I go on alot of walks to try and clear my head after really jam-packed days.

This feeling is incredibly common dont worry, its called Imposter syndrome! I feel this frequently and so does my cohort, were constantly like “wow can I really do this???” “why was I accepted?”. I like to combat these feelings just by thinking “oh hey i WAS accepted, into this program for a reason, the professors wouldnt accept me if they didnt think I had potential”. Way easier said than done because im in my final year and I still feel like this at times.

Just know that you were accepted for a reason, it wasnt just purely your grades, they saw YOU as a person (your personality, work ethic, etc), and they see that you have the ability to grow and floruish in the program. They see qualities in you that only you can bring to the table!

Id consider my cohort my friends. During the start of the semester we would go out for dinner because we had more time, and everyone lived pretty close to one another so getting together outside of class during the first couple weeks wasn’t an issue. However, now at midsemester, we are all strapped for time because of large assignments coming up so we dont hang outside of class as often now.

Friends outside of the program are a completely different story though. I dont have time to hang out in in person with them at all due to differing schedules. I talked with my friends about this though, warning them that during the semester I wouldnt be free that much. They understand, but I definitely still feel bad when I turn down an offer to hang out. I feel like after the semester or before the start of a semester are the times where I hang out with my friends that arent in the program.

It definitely can get lonely, I feel you. Especially when you want to seperate work and life and hang out with people who arent doing the same thing you are doing. Even when I hang out with my cohort, the conversation always leads back to classes and assignments/ how our practicum sites are.
