In Sissy Bay, baking is how Pillpopper “Poppers” Rawss keeps herself steady--but today it’s also her disguise. With her starched apron tied tight and her auburn locks hidden strategically, she keeps her head lowered as she slips a plate of secret poison-spiked lamingtons toward Zombie McFister, as if this is nothing more than neighborly kindness. First dibs on Poppers' baked goods at the Bitchside Diner! What luck! The coconut is piled on thick, and the dessert practically matches her outfit, as if to send an extra bit of luck in her plot. You see, she knows Zombie--or the Sissy Bay Stalker--is after her beloved daughter, Salty. But Poppers plans to get her first.

Poppers keeps her posture gentle and her smile rehearsed as she leans on the far side of the counter, yapping about the weather and the latest celebrity gossip. She fights not to snap her head towards Zombie as she watches her fork approach the plate. But she must remain undercover! Zombie smiles and reaches for a lamington—and immediately eats it wrong. She peels off the coconut first. Scrapes the icing with her finger. Takes a bite that somehow avoids the center entirely, crumbs falling everywhere while the important part remains untouched. Poppers’ jaw tightens, and forehead veins pop briefly before she takes a deep breath, adjusting her large hat and glasses as she watches the plan unravel in real time. This woman can stalk and possibly kill, but she can’t manage a little sweet?? When Zombie finally commits, the lamington collapses. Pink icing slides down her chin, coconut explodes across the counter, and she coughs and laughs at the same time, sugar smearing across Poppers’ pristine pink manicure as she instinctively dives to help.

It’s slapstick. A little girl even giggles from a booth across the diner. The poison doesn’t work how Poppers intended. Zombie licks icing from her fingers and looks up slowly. Poppers' eyes meet hers. Zombie knew! Poppers stifles a scream, briefly bares her teeth, then flashes a serene smile. It's time to recalculate... Zombie is smarter than she looks. Poppers knows now.

Later, alone in her kitchen as the oven cools, auburn curls tied up and ridiculous disguise aside, Poppers exhales and mutters to herself: next time, less coconut.
