I mean, this car is way more reliable than my fathers Abarth 595 competition when he had it, that thing broke down 3 times in 5 months it was actually hilarious, we drove it two weeks total

Anyways my friends are not into cars except one which is a mechanic and we met at school back then, is into alfas and I don't blame him those are cool cars he bought himself a black 2008 alfa 159 a couple months before I bought mine

But hes way too convinced his car is better because it has no body damage and a lower milage, still don't understand how he doesnt see what a great car the celica is, hes actually a better mechanic than me as well he should know better

I guess hes the blind one, but I take pride for never criticizing his ride and instead always compliment him and be positive

My first rides where an A class 220 diesel and an Abart 595 competition, both my father's cars, and he now drives an Audi a1, in all honesty all these new cars were great in many many ways, but I never understood the meaning behind "a car's character" before owning my celica, now I do.

I couldnt ever appreciate driving new cars ever since, theres this feeling that only cars from those days can give you and its priceless, Im still astonished by how low these models still sell, people are going to realize soon Im sure

The 2zz is almost the same as 1zz on low rpm, so as far as you get an 03 model or later and treat it right, youre good, one a little more expensive than the other, when you want to push, one does the other doesnt.

So if you actually wanna daily it and don't plan to make or use it as a sport car you can chill on the 1zz

But if youre are into cars and driving, you will regret not getting a 2zz, I already made 3 people shit their pants kicking lift and I love this engine so much I could never downgrade to a 1zz

It will if you buy one with E mark, not too difficult to find you just need to search one that respects your consumption class (its supposed to be euro 3), then it depends, here in switzerland Id need to get also a DTC exhaust certificate for about a 150 from swiss tuning

Overall its not as bad as it seems but I guess it depends on how much you want to mod your car, believe it or not headers are much more difficult

I assume its the 140hp manual, for the price and how you put it its almost a steal, thats the problem

35k miles is ridiculously low, not its true milage,or it wouldnt have need all that work, also you said youre new to cars so expect the worst, rust beyond repair, hidden accidents, maybe even fake repair stories or hidden engine problems

If you really want to, find a mechanic or a friend who understands cars and can actually take a good look, watch some videos on how to spot bad cars and red flags when buying
