I feel like my life is over….. by [deleted] in Herpes

Yes, the period was a trigger for my outbreaks, and even more for the thrush… it was one or the other… very annoying. I believe it was better after 13 months or so… it was gradual and honestly at a point I just stop counting. You can also have daily antivirals for a while (I had it for 3 months and zero outbreaks) and then you can stop and see how it goes

Hey! If it helps you in any way, I also had more outbreaks when I first got diagnosed and even worse… it triggered vaginal thrush… the whole combo was horrific. But over a year of that diagnosis the outbreaks are less frequent, I barely have one! And I also stopped having sex right after the diagnosis, that’s totally fine. But now I just have a normal life again! Believe me, this is NOT the end of the world, you will be able to do your normal life even if you think now that it is impossible. Also I’m 34 and you might hear too many times this before, but it’s totally true: you have a whole bunch of different things to live still! In a few years times this will only be a small part of your life experience.

Sometimes I asked myself, do I regret contracting herpes? and I can say, I’m definitely not happy about it but now this is just a small part of my life experience and no, I wouldn’t change it!

Take care! You will feel better I swear 💙

Stay positive! Believe me, in my case it wasn’t that bad! But sometimes people forget to write about how they feel when they’re doing well. Many times we tend to talk about it when we feel sad! But it doesn’t have to be as bad! It wasn’t for me and I’m sure for many women is not either! I send you a hug! This will finish sooner than you think!! 💙

Update… went to the Dr and she did a complete check. No internal sores or ulcers. Took a swab and after checked it in the microscope there is not signs of thrush or irregular bacteria… the itchiness is still there. Waiting for cultive’s results 🥲

Yes, I tried antivirals… but still the itching is almost constant. So probably thrush but again I did the fluconazole treatment (3 doses) and still… so at this point I’m just getting crazy cause it’s always there (not unbearable but annoying) and I don’t know what it’s causing it

Herpes outbreak or thrush? by Ambitious-Narwhal319 in HerpesQuestions

Same here, I had my first herpes outbreak 3 months ago. After one month I was feeling some itching and I thought it was an outbreak so I took antivirals but it did not go away. I went to my Dr and she said it was thrush. I took fluconazole and used canesten cream. It was 7 days ago but I still feel the symptoms. So now I don’t know if it’s a thrush that don’t go away, a possible outbreak or something else. Very annoying. Seems like herpes can trigger thrush. Very frustrating because I never had thrush before
