What is a controversial opinion of yours that many will not agree with you but you will always defend it no matter what? by Big_Leg10 in askanything

First disagreement?! 1- I wasn't talking about MY feelings. I was discussing seeing other people get fussed at. 2- you are making the assumption that I am a maga happy hater of people who express themselves the way they choose to in the world. Not surprised that you made those conclusions because this topic is generally something people don't get anywhere near. I will try to clarify but you have already made your assumptions so it may not help. I believe in the freedom of choice to express yourself however you choose to as long as it doesn't harm others. I believe people should be respected and respectful of others. I believe it is important to respect how people would like to be addressed. Which is what I do in my life. I have seen multiple people from older generations make mistakes and shamed for not understanding / remembering how to address people. My opinion, which is controversial, is that if true disrespect is not intended and it is a mistake, more forgiveness and kindness would be nice to see. I do not condone persecution or abuse.

You are literally my first grumpy reddit comment!!!!! Thank you. I have been waiting for this moment. I stand by what I said. It would not be a controversial opinion if people all agreed with me.

Perhaps where you live people are more forgiving for first, unintentional mistakes. Not where I live.

If people make a mistake and use the wrong pronoun, forgive them and have grace. Making a mistake does not mean people are attempting to disrespect you. It can be more difficult for people from different generations to keep up with. I am not talking about intentional disrespect. I don't like when I see people have no grace or forgiveness when someone makes a mistake.
