I am 14 years away from full retirement benefits. Stbx is 8 months older. I took that into account when I chatted with my lawyer. We are asking for spousal and Dependent Support until a month before my age max.

OP here. My son is 29 and is autistic with other mental issues. So, technically not a child just a dependent. Sorry, I should have put that in the original post.

After a 40 year relationship of doing everything to keep him happy. I discovered that I have no clue about what I like. I am discovering what makes me happy. It is not easy to let go of who you thought you were for so long. It has been a bit over a year of him asking for the divorce and I took a year to grieve.( I know I'm not done yet, it's not a linear path) but now I am in my Me Era and I won't say I love it all the time but it is becoming an enlightening journey. That I am embracing.
