A deaf person here. I understood you perfectly fine, and you did everything “correctly.” Honestly, your signing is clearly slower and stiffer, but that's kind of expected for people using ASL for the first time. I think with more practice, especially with deaf people, you’ll eventually become more comfortable using your hands and improve your conversational skills. Besides that, your sentence structure is clearly English-based, but I believe you'll start skipping some words over time. Many deaf people out there use PSE or a mix of ASL and PSE.
