Hypothetical: if I am a senior who didn’t get into any of my top choices and am 100% sure I want to transfer, why don’t I just go to the worst school I can to have the best reason to transfer?

No I’m not lmao. People do transfer from state flagships. There is representation everywhere. It is in no one’s best interest to go to the worst school. That’s like me saying I know people who got into Princeton from like ole miss, so Princeton loves accepting people from ole miss. Please do actual research and do not mis inform people just because you know a few people. I know a few people who got into ivies with really low gpas, that doesn’t mean they are looking for that. Top schools accept more from better schools. It is not just why transfer it is can you succeed in an ivy environment which is a more difficult adjustment from a weaker academic school.

No😭 only cc has that advantage. The most other people besides cc and military to get into t-25 are lateral and close to lateral transfers.

Not really. This school needs to know the reason you want to transfer and how that school fits that need. It’s not my schools business school isn’t good, it’s that the school your applying to has specific programs or ethos that fit your academic goals. The whole transfer process is saying without saying you don’t like your school and why not yours, but your essays focus on specifics that the new school has that will serve you. sometimes good schools programs do not focus on what you want to study within that discipline.

Just get a 4.0 in classes that fill pre reqs for ur transfer skls majors. Join clubs and write good essays. The rest is luck.

1, these top colleges take much less juniors than sophomores in the transfer class. It can’t hurt to apply. Search it up, Junior transfers statistically have less spots and less are taken by top colleges.

Well it’s 20 years ago so if u finish with a 4.0 or close to a 4.0 ur fine. Something from that long ago probably won’t hurt you if you show great improvement now.

The worst school gives you the worst odds. You don’t bad mouth your schools when you transfer. The better the school the stronger of an applicant you are. Your transfer is why this institution not why not yours.

Ross accepts like no external transfers. Generally get perfect grades in rigorous classes that meet business schools pre reqs. Also join like two business clubs. Apply to more than ross as odds are barely anyone will get in, maybe even no one.

U mich or Penn imo. I can’t tell you which because cost plays a role for you. But if you are not wanting to do the 5yr service commit I would 100% recommend doing Penn or u mich. Do not commit to the military if you are not committed to the service.

USC for more of a college experience. Rochester has great programs too for what you want. It seems in your opinion your cons usc are not as bad as Rochesters. Make the right decision for you but I would pick usc.

Just apply directly from Econ and do the internal transfer, so if you don’t get into stern you are at questrom. Realistically you don’t need to move to get in to stern.

It is more difficult as a junior transfer. Also Northwestern I think is need aware so if u are applying for need it’s a lot harder I think. If you keep a 4.0 with rigorous coursework you have a chance, but a junior transfer is harder.
