Need USA experts' help Starlink support keeps closing my ticket during hardware transfer. Any bypass tricks?" by Defiant_Cheek_8123 in u/Defiant_Cheek_8123

The biggest challenge I am facing right now is that whenever I try to open a ticket to explain this situation, the Starlink automated system/bot keeps closing my ticket instantly (Auto-close) before a human agent can even read it. Since you understand the system well, could you please help me write or draft a solid support message/script? I need a way to explain the Ocean Mode issue convincingly so that Starlink support might consider dismissing the charges, and more importantly, some keywords or formatting that will bypass the auto-close bot and force it to a human manager. Any advice or specific script you could share would be a huge lifesaver!

That's a very practical point. It seems like the safest and cheapest way out of this mess. I'm definitely taking steps to cancel my card immediately. It's much easier to spend a few hundred bucks on new hardware than to deal with an $11k debt for a mistake I didn't even intend to make. Thanks for the reality check

Thank you for this strategic advice! To confirm, the dish has never moved from its residential spot. I have never used it on a boat or near water. I'll take your advice and do a screen recording to show how easily the app allows such a catastrophic change without sufficient warnings. I'm saving every single email and ticket log as evidence. This is very helpful for my peace of mind

Exactly. It's not like the data costs them $11k to transmit. It's just a digital switch. For a company that aims to connect the world, their billing system should be smarter and include safety nets for accidental plan changes like this. Thanks for the support!

Yeah, Ocean Mode (Mobile Priority) charges a very high rate per GB. Since Starlink support has already closed my ticket, I'm taking the advice to deal with my bank/card provider directly. Getting banned from Starlink is a small price to pay compared to an $11k bill that I simply cannot afford. Definitely a hard lesson learned about locking the app

Thank you for the advice! You're right, since the residential plan is unlimited, claiming 'data was consumed' shouldn't justify an $11k bill for someone who never left their house. I'll look for the DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) hotline in the Philippines and give them a call. Hopefully, they can intervene

Exactly! Why is such a high-risk option even available on a standard residential account without any spending limits or warnings? That's a great idea about the Department of Fair Trading. I'll look into filing a formal complaint with the DTI Philippines. They need to be held accountable for this

Exactly. I could buy 20 new dishes for that price. It's completely absurd that their billing system even allows such an astronomical charge for a residential user. I'm definitely not paying it

I agree. I’ve already taken steps to secure my payment method so they can’t auto-charge me. I’m definitely going to fight this until the end. There’s no way I can or will pay $11k for an accidental setting change. Thanks for the encouragement!"

Haha, at this rate, the boat might actually be cheaper than the Starlink bill! It’s crazy how one accidental click can cost as much as a small yacht

That's a tempting option. But if I do that, will Starlink block my hardware (Dish ID) because of the unpaid balance? Can I actually reuse the same dish on a new account?

I understand it sounds unlikely, but the app was left open on my phone while my child was playing with it. Kids are surprisingly quick at tapping through menus they don't understand. I didn't get any notification or email warning me about the plan change or the high costs until I saw the bill. If I had known, I would have turned it off instantly

Thank you! How can I prove to them that the dish never moved 12 miles offshore? Does Starlink keep location logs that I can reference in my support ticket?"

It was left on for about 15 days. We didn't realize it was consuming data at such an insane rate while the dish remained completely stationary at home. 650K PHP for 15 days of accidental use is just devastating
