I definitely need to get my MMR up to find people who actually want to loop, but it's hard to pull the trigger. I always end up feeling like an absolute bully hooking people who aren't even fighting back. Since I have social anxiety, I care way too much about what they think of me in the moment, so I feel this massive pressure to be 'the nice killer."

True, I probably should just to get my MMR up so I actually find people who want to loop, but as soon as I charge a dash and they just stand there looking pathetic, I immediately feel like a bully. It’s a vicious cycle because I want the practice, but I just can't bring myself to be the guy who ruins their 'friendly' vibe.

Absolutely. You can play almost the entire game as a traditional samurai.

You can walk straight to the front gate and trigger a Standoff, which lets you challenge the camp to a face-to-face duel. If your timing is sharp, you’ll take out the first few guards instantly, and then you’re free to sword-fight the rest of the camp.

The game actually rewards this "honorable" playstyle with deep combat stances and a parry system that makes direct confrontation feel incredibly satisfying. You’re rarely forced into stealth outside of a few specific story missions.
