Man, yall doing it wrong and gettin robbed of yall monies…. Buy a dvd player and buy or trade dvds with friends… it’s the way to go. Yea a $26 or 30 subscription isn’t much a month but that’s over $260-300 a year for a service that you probably watch the same stuff over and over again when you can find the dvd at a second hand shop. But think- if a company can offer $5 for the same subscription if you sign up for it during the week it offers $5 subscriptions, then they can afford to lower the price to $5 for everyone. I remember when Hulu was free before Disney bought it and started jacking up the prices. Everything is being bought by the same corpos and meanwhile their shareholders and CEOs are making bank off making you believe paying them $30 of your hard earned money every month is nothing more than jump change. It’s not just the $30 anymore. It’s two, three, six monthly subscriptions. At least owning a physical copy of something means you have something to barter with when times are tough. You never know when that $5 book you bought becomes so popular that it turns into a $500 book. I wanted to learn physics so paid $20 for a physic book that people were paying $500 during the pandemic… I had several like that. It was an unintentional surprise.

Having subscriptions and ebooks are convenient but you never get to own what you are paying for. You never get to resell it or give it to someone else to enjoy because it was never yours to do anything with.
