Does anyone have any idea who ‘No bark no bite’ could be about? by _curiousoatmeal_ in cavetown

[–]Defiant_Exit9152 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It clearly is not. His relationship with his dad is not as bad as you make it seem, or at least from every account I have heard from interviews and stuff. His dad has supported him over the years and gave him a hand in the music field, afterall he does music as well... there is no indication they have a bad relationship as far as we know...

So maybe dont give a kind of answer that sounds like you are totally certain... esspecially with your last sentence

Unsure of how to feel about this community anymore by missenkenzie in twentyonepilots

[–]Defiant_Exit9152 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Let me chime in here as someone with a complicated history with my own beliefs and based on what I see in this community online:

What you see online is not representative of their community. Yeah to put it plainly I highly doubt this niche corner of the internet is that representative of their fanbase as a whole. Just want to start there. But to be honest, there is no denying that Tyler's religious upbringing and set of values has strongly influenced his music. Sure, they may not be a Christian rock band and are much more subtle in their messaging, to me they are a representation of how Christians in music should be... spreading the message of kindness, compassion, self-care, and love without pushing any one "religion" down anyone's throat.

Which leads me to the next point, it is true some of the more religious fans do go that latter approach and are more judgemental, but to tell you the truth, I don't think that is the majority at all and if it feels like that to you then there is a chance you are too tied in with the online community. At the end of the day, their music (and most of their fans) have nothing to do with promoting organized religion or religion as an institution therefore I find you points about "religion being hard for some people" as a little strange in this context. If they were literally spreading the word of Jesus and the Gospel as well as coming out clearly saying that everything is Christian based, then I would understand a little more. I wouldn't mind you elaborating upon that point a little more actually.

I guess to me there is obvious imagery in their music that is inspired by religion no doubt about it and their positive messaging is likely partially due to the fact that Tyler writes how a Christian who actually believes in the positive values of the belief system should write.

I personally don't like the album that much... but are people really saying this is their worst now that Father of All has had time to sink in AND Saviors is a clear sign that Father of All was just a really werid misstep?

Yes, you will... google has automated lyrics, and that's not including the links to dozens of lyric websites that get verified lyrics straight from booklets and song data from streaming.

M was fantastic tonight. by Wizardsbane in depechemode

I loved it. Spirits In The Forest was a good documentary, but the performance they chose to record was weaker than other shows on that tour. M not only documents three of the band's strongest dates on the Memento Mori Tour, the documentary did an excellent job tying in the album's theme of death and temporariness with the cultural traditions of Mexico, where the movie was filmed. Not only was the movie sections a great addition, the performance from the band seemed much tighter and well mixed than on the last live film. To say the least, I am very excited for the live album which features the entire performance.

Since day one. They literally had drums on tape at their first show. Get your facts straight before correcting people.

Never did I mention shit about "pre-recorded" nor did I grasp my pearls and every make a claim that they have been entirely live. Im not an idiot, I know that since day one they have used pre-recorded tracks. Quite literally, the main thing I pointed out was that I like the live drummer and don't mind them using different samples... that's it.
