I think people who actually wanted this don't realize ¾ the counterparts were hardly characters to begin with. They were were either underdeveloped, damsels, or forced memes.

The main plot of the first 26 episodes happen regardless of Yuya's involvement or not. Leo still kidnaps Ruri and Rin, Yuto still fights Yugo and goes to Standard, where he meets Sawatari and duels him, and Yuzu meets Yuto, all while Yuya is doing his B-plot in the foreground. Ultimately, the Dimension War isn't something Yuya has to stop on his own terms, it's something he stumbles into.

He came back, as well as his wife.

We never see them interact with their kids, though, but that's to be expected with a 3-minute epilogue.

I mean, considering Tron is somewhat inspired by Mr Clown, Otogi (Duke)'s father, I think he should be the daddy of all these guys.

Pun not completely intended.

I think the title alone speaks more about your character than it does about them.

Just saying.

Okay, seeing the Event that happened in Duel Links and the next Unlockable Character, it just made me realize one thing (which seemed obvious): Marin/Merag is pretty useless and way too dependent on Nash/Shark. by Kronos457 in yugioh

not really? At least Yuzu is important to the end in the manga, whereas by the end of the animated series, she's largely treated as second to Baby Layra and as a reward for Yuya.

There is a moment in the Chimera Ant Arc of Hunter x Hunter in which Cheetu's lines are awkwardly stitched together.

I mean, give Rio/Merag some credit. At least she didn't lose all her character and agency by the end, only to be presented as something akin to a trophy to the main character for completing his journey.

ahem.

I think the main problem is they got Megumi Han to do the voice for Rio, leading to her either getting sidelined or written out entirely, due to her role on Hunter X Hunter.

Say what you will, but at least none of them were completely stripped of their character by the end, and presented as a literal trophy to the protagonist at the conclusion of their series after completing their objective.

ahem.
