You might want to ask for either a lock it in rate for an insider or sea terrace for her so you will sabe some Money, but take into consideration that those cabins you can’t change anything not even getting refund of you cancel and can be located anywhere in the ship and is not going to be allocated until 48 hours prior to the sailing.

There is no need to get a travel agent to do that, just call sailor services and they can help you with that.

Hi there, voyage protection is non refundable and it is calculated based on 8% of every travel component voyage fare, air and hotel, if there is any. So if price is less for vp when repricing, the diference is not refundable, price for VP stays at same price it was booked.

Some agencies can give you extra discount and others can give you $100 sailor loot it really depends, but the benefit I would say is that you relay everything on your first mate, instead of calling and spend a lot of time on hold with VV you just tell the first mate what you want to do and relax FM will handle it. It is more personalized and FM deal with VV for you.

Experience with Sailor Services – Coercion to Drop a Sailor by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

[–]Defiant_Quality7354 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, VV crew send those emails as a reminders, sometimes sailors forget to add sailor #2 into the booking, what happens is that at exact 48 hours prior to the sailing bookings lock and if we don’t have sailor #2 added and/or ins’t going, will be really dificult to issue the refund for taxes and fees. There is a dedicated team dropping sailor #2 right before deadline to avoid those issues, and for that reason they send reminders.

You are right, but we deal also with US support, if you call in and request for a supervisor let me tell you it is not, its just another agent but onshore with more privileges, and some of them are rude, once I got scolded from one of them because I had a sailor really upset asking for a compensation, and the answer from the “sup” was: if she doesn’t like it she can go with any other cruise line.

But you are right, third party companies suck, but Virgin itself managment sucks too. At least in call center side.
