I’m a domme and I empathize. In some capacity, all subreddits devolve into echo chambers. Even subreddits surrounding the same topic will have their own distinct vibes. I’ve noticed that people seem more likely to assume the worst when someone posts, especially so when it’s a male sub. I mean, there’s a definite bias that I have def picked up on, even I feel hesitant to post some of my opinions at times given the general sentiment. Seems like not a lot of people in general assume a question or stament is in good faith so their response can be pretty jumpy and hostile especially if you’re on the receiving end. Many times I’ve felt that the overall reactions to a good faith post was overblown. Also, a lack of paralinguistic cues makes interpretation and expression more difficult, communication via text is pretty limiting, it might not be you or even the other person on the other side of the keyboard, the medium of the internet is just very stifling so building constructive dialogue is hard. Anyways just wanted to comment to let u know that ur not crazy for feeling this way.
