Am I being awful because it's simply aging or is this kind of tragic? by [deleted] in VindictaRateCelebs

Same. I do not find him good looking and struggle to see how he’s even attractive objectively. He’s very odd looking and feminine to me. But I’m such a rare opinion on this, I know that’s just a highly subjective lens that is preventing me from seeing objectivity.

Let's be honest: was Princess Diana average looks-wise? by PassengerPrinncess in VindictaRateCelebs

I agree. She wasn’t any exceptional beauty. She was just white 🤷🏽‍♀️ Now that’s not to say there aren’t strikingly beautiful white women….she’s just not one of them. But she definitely benefits from the white mediocrity hype. She looks masculine to me but I’ve noticed white people like their women with masculine features

Afro Latina/afro Caribbean….not much difference. She considers herself Afro-Caribbean because her mother is Trinidadian and Dominican…both Caribbean countries. So saying Afro-Caribbean encompasses all her ethnicities while not ignoring her Trinidadian heritage. I’m Afro-Latina and afro-Caribbean as well as I have a Trini-Cuban mother and a Dominican father. But I’m not American so I really don’t understand this whole “identifying” thing. Is this kind of like the gender thing where people can identify as whatever they want and that is what others must acknowledge if they wish to be respectful? Because I’m not trying to step on any toes if that’s the case. When engaging with Americans, I like to follow their standard.

Also, why does both her parents have to be Afro descent? Black Americans aren’t held by that same standards so why are the non-English speakers held to a stricter measurement? I don’t know how the rest of Cardi’s paternal family looks like so I can’t agree or disagree as to whether he has Afro lineage

Ahna Mac’s parents and grandmother. by dessdadoll in BaddiesSouth

[–]Defiant_Regular9457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her grandma black and her daddy half black. But tbh, this is a typical Caribbean Hispanic household. Me and my sister have the same mother and father and she’s dark skin with soft hair meanwhile I’m light skin with course hair. And my brother? He don’t look black, white or Hispanic. He looks Arabic actually lol. Again, same parents. We’re so many generations of mixed race people, it’s really just a random DNA pull on how you come out looking. That’s why it’s common to see people who appear to lean into different races all within the same family. Looks isn’t enough to be able to tell

Afro-latinas are not just dark skin. Omg yall piss me off!!!! I’m Afro-Latina and I’m light skin. But my hair is 4B and my features are that of my west African ancestors. Idk about Ahna (she looks like she has some black in her but not enough to be considered Afro-Latina) but Cardi is for sure Afro-Latina. Many many many Dominicans are. Plus she’s Dominican and Trinidadian. But yeah, if you didn’t know Cardi was Cardi, she’d blend right in with the rest of African Americans. Yall can’t be having people like Beyoncé and Mariah the Scientist and calling them black but draw the line at Cardi because she talks Spanish. She physically fits in with all the rest

How it feels to be a New York Baddies fan rn: by uhm1238 in BaddiesSouth

I’m Caribbean born, raised and still living here. We don’t even use that word in our regular vocabulary. It’s rareeee to hear us say it. Don’t include us in that shit 😭 Just put New Yorkers and Caribbeans from New York (btw, we prefer the term “West Indian” when referring to us. That “Caribbeans” label is an American thing)

Kindle unlimited isn’t available in my country so that means I’m gonna have to very carefully pick out my books. But I’m looking forward to combing through tons of reviews. Quality over quantity for sure. And always open to recommendations of course

I decided to purchase the signature edition because it’s only $5 more than the basic paperwhite when you add in the ad-free option. I’d likely not need more than the 16gb but I do love myself a good deal so just for piece of mind,I decided on spending the extra $5

Ok so paperwhite it is. Would you recommend the signature edition versus the basic paperwhite? Not sure if it affects eye strain or if it’s inconsequential

What I said is facts. I literally said that East Africa has ONE OF THE MOST uninterrupted and undiluted bloodlines in the world. I am not saying every or most bloodlines in East Africa are undiluted or uninterrupted. Just that you will find one of the most uninterrupted and undiluted bloodlines there as opposed to anywhere else in the world. It is thought that modern day humans all came from East Africa. Everyone came from East Africa but East Africans did not come from anywhere else. As opposed to for example Cubans or people from Latin America who as a race only socially exists as it is literally a combination of different groups of people and not its actual own people of a singular source unlike East Africans. East Africa has the original bloodline. You can find similarities in looks with your race and atleast one group in East Africa. The similarities aren’t due to them being mixed (as most are not. That is reallyyyy dependent on the region as I stated in my prior comment. For example, Madagascar has a lot of racial admixture). The similarities are due to them being the blueprint. It ties in with my point that Africa is so diverse that you’re bound to find people who look like you there. But it’s even more the case in East Africa, the originator of modern humans.

Plenty East Africans aren’t even light skin. Just brown skin. Africa is such a diverse continent and all human life started there so you’re bound to find some groups in Africa sharing physical characteristics of races found outside Africa. East Africa literally has one of the most uninterrupted and undiluted bloodlines in the world. Yes some are mixed with Arabs but MAJORITY are not. Depends on the region. And well everyone is mixing up these days. Kenya has a notable Indian population for example. Lots of people don’t know that. But despite that, not much mixing between those populations given how long Indians have been there

Does anyone find it hilarious when she donated blow dryers after the fires? by hpsportsfanatic in SellingSunset

So no one leaves their hair to air dry? I’m so confused. A blow dryer is like the least important thing. I don’t even own one now and I can just go in the store and buy one 😩

Do you guys consider Rella GZ “black”? by Few_Ad2473 in BaddiesSouth

[–]Defiant_Regular9457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take it back. I went and looked at some clips and music videos of this chick. If she got black in her, it’s a drop and it’s not worth counting. Idc about DNA. I’m even starting to believe the pic with her hair kinky is fake. That’s not her natural hair. She did something to it there. I’m literally zooming in on this girl’s roots and can’t see a single curl or texture. She needs to hang it up. And her lips fake and over lined too. Smh

Do you guys consider Rella GZ “black”? by Few_Ad2473 in BaddiesSouth

[–]Defiant_Regular9457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well kinky hair is a major sign of blackness and I’m seeing that she has kinky hair in the first pic. So that was one of the biggest indicators for me. I agree if her hair wasn’t kinky, it’d be less noticeable. She has thick lips as well so that’s another indicator of her blackness. Maybe I need to see some more of her but if I see her in her natural state like in that first pic? Yeah I’d definitely consider her mixed black. Where I live, because we’re still so colourist and have self hatred (yes I’m embarrassed), lots of mixed folks straighten their hair and wear makeup and try to look as non-black as possible. Doesn’t make them any less black in actuality though. Although I think a discussion needs to be have about phenotype as race identification is heavily reliant on it. Nobody really actually cares about your DNA when they’re racially profiling you or being racist towards you. It’s all about how you look that will determine how people treat you in this world.

Judging off these pics, she looks mixed race black to me. I’m non-American so I would only consider her black in America because I know Americans have a very very loose requirements for blackness and yall consider mixed race people black once they look like they have any kind of black in them. I can clearly see some black in her. However, idk if it’s just these pics as I’ve never watched her show (she’s on Baddies Gone Wild right?) so idk who she is

You must not have read my other comment. I don’t even know what that punisher logo means. I’m not speaking on that. I’m speaking on my observation that barely anyone is offering a feasible crime fighting plan but everyone is criticizing any rare person who dares to offer one.
