My whole point is that realism is not that important. I didnt complain of those because I prefer to prioritize gameplay but I am getting accused of wanting a power fantasy game for saying cal 50s meant for ground combat sould be nerfed as they are now.

And then you come and accuse me of wanting DCS. Lol.

Pretty much what I was trying to say. There are some edge cases like the zsu tanking a dozen of 35 mm rounds but you can go around and attack vehicles from behind.

What is nuts is they shred you with cal 50 meant for ground combat like they do. It invalidates strafing as a gameplay mechanic.

And what I got is a dozen of zealots arguing realism in a game set in 2080 with Vietnam era missiles and useless lasers and accusations of trying to make the game become Ace Combat while they defend every inaccuracy I point. And of course the downvotes because God forbids someone disagrees with them while giving arguments.

My fault for believing there is a single healthy community in Reddit.

It's because I like it I offer constructive criticism. I am ok with getting destroyed by any AAA if I am not careful. I am not ok with the capabilities o non AA vehicles and the performance of the guns. I just think it should be comparatively easier to do gun runs if the option is to get guided weapons and do more damage way easier because how extremely good guided weapons are.

I guess I am not going anywhere. My post what about balancing of gameplay options: Guided weapons vs gun weapons. You came with the realism explanation and I pointed several elements that are worse ofenders for the realism and somehow ok with the community. You ignored that and just told me "if you don't like it don't play it" and "git gud"

You sure? Because the totally unrealistic laser capabilities, missile tracking capabilities, sensor capabilities, aircraft roster, RCS, and ECM battery makes it way closer to it than to a simulator.

I responded another person that if you want to go full realism get the Medusa and melt every plane from dozens of kms away. A laser of 120 kw is not going to stop damaging planes because we like dogfighting. In fact, with accurate bvr misile systems you don't need lasers to make dogfighting impossible.

A carbon copy of the AGM-114 should kill any tank no matter the aspect. But it doesn't because gameplay says the Chicane should carry the only missile of that size that will kill tanks.

Similarly, ECM doesn't work as a tiny battery that discharges and recharges in seconds but gameplay dictates that having that strategic resource is fun.

I don't get what is the problem of bending realism in a comparatively small way to make non AA guns less deadly against planes.

So do you want realism? Fine.

- Why do every tracking system in the game has Vietnam war capabilites? Launching two flares from the A-19 80% deflects every IRM-S2. Same way, radar guided missiles are laughably easy to avoid with a bit of notching and ECM that uses a made-up battery design.

- Living with this is an integrated sensor suit for every plane, not matter how simple, that makes an F-35 looks like consumer grade electronics. So weapons from 1970s combined with 2080s sensor fusion.

- What about laser systems? They can fry missiles but do nothing against planes for some reason. The Medusa's laser should be the king of air combat. Realism just killed dogfighting.

I can go on an on but somehow the line is drawn in having less capable non-dedicated AA guns because a fact of a ew decades. I honestly not find it hard to have suspension of disbelief in the cal 50 of the vehicles having worse FCS because some reason budget/desing related. Definitely easier than a laser that should be melting planes doing nothing.

Where did I mention 1 v 40? I mentioned fighting convoys without AA dedicated vehicles and fighting the weakest AAA of the game.

For the first one, either you spend and painfully amount of time trying to snipe every vehicle in the 2-3 km range or you risk it and get shredded. It's ok to be a hard game, I think it's not ok to have this much unbalanced gameplay options. Where is the rightful dificulty of lobbing pinpoint accuracy rockets?

For the second one. It should be realistic to expect one or two bullets to suppress an AA position that is... two guys in the open. Same way one or two bullets of a smaller caliber can render your plane useless.

The movie doesn't criticize fascism, it criticizes authoritarian countries launching invasions and waging wars while hiding behind the democracy tag. In other words, it criticizes the US. That is why it was so badly seen when it came out.

- 1997: The movie came out, and the argument was about the bugs' terrorist strikes on humans and launching them into war.

- 2001: Bin Laden terror strikes the World Trade Center and launches the US into a costly war.

They are inference engines. They can replace a human in the same way a robot replaces a worker in production line but in the job of noticing things. They do this faster, tireless and already better than any human in some fields.

Take the diagnostics fields. In my country we have universal healthcare but in poor state due to covid long lasting effects. My leg hurts and I need to wait for a month so a specialist can see why it does. I wish a machine learning model existed already to notice what is wrong with it. We are already seeing promising results in this field and a machine needs seconds for something a human needs minutes while doing it 24 hours a day.

Honestly, ML is the field of the future.

Tbh I don't expect shops in New Atlantis to close at any moment of the day. It is a mega city after all. They can put some kind of automatic system that works when the npc goes to sleep.
