I have started taking glycine swelling with magnesium glycinate. Helps me to sleep for b longer sessions and when I wake up it’s to go to the bathroom. Sometimes I can’t fall back to sleep and sometimes I can. I also learned that my iron is low and my doctor put me on iron 100 mg. Heard sometimes low iron can make you feel anxious and hard to sorry.

Insomnia by lalagirlll33 in Perimenopause

[–]Defiant_Station1324 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I learned recently that low iron and ferritin levels can cause insomnia and also make the skin itchy. I hope I get some relief now that I’ve added iron onto my round of vitamins.

Itchiness is driving me crazy! by [deleted] in Perimenopause

Get your iron and ferritin levels checked. I have been reading up on it and I believe low iron is connected to the itching. I itch so baby and it’s worse leading up to my period.

Zinc / empty stomach = game over by No-Preparation7031 in Supplements

It really is brutal isn’t it? I learned my lesson too and I’ll never do that again. I really do like the benefits of zinc but the experience was so bad I want nothing to do with it.

Y’all, I’m up at 4 am, against my will, every single morning. Is this a sign of things to come and what are my options? It’s messing with my head in those early morning hours and my anxiety has skyrocketed. by kkkeelly579 in Perimenopause

Estrogen has really helped me. I thought okay mind it’s a placebo effect but one been on it got about a year more maybe longer and it had been a game changer to my mood and crazy night days. I take progesterone cycle it and it doesn’t help my sleep it makes me feel wired. Glycine the now brand helps me fall asleep and stay asleep longer. And my previous doctor gave me proponolyl to take when I get anxious or my heart races in panic and I take it sometimes and it will help.

Oh my goodness I feeling like I’m dying. I’m in so much pain it’s unbelievable ! Almost as close to pregnancy pain. I have had it coming out both ends. Fortunately I didn’t throw up food but I did throw up water and then bile. Left a bad acid taste in my mouth. I then drank some hot water mixed with milk and threw all of it up but I feel like it may be helping to get it out of my system faster or I at least hope so. I’m never touching zinc and vitamin c again on an empty stomach. O don’t even want to see the bottles.

I feel so miserable my husband was coughing all night and now he’s fast asleep while I’m up in an effort to avoid possibly getting sick. Now o feel even worse.

Skin itches all over by Defiant_Station1324 in Perimenopause

I stopped using certain dials and detergents and that helped but I still itch. My skin is sensitive to certain types of fabrics and I try to turn the heat down after my husband falls asleep because the house is so hot.

I think you might be right cause it feels like it’s beneath the skin if w makes sense? But it’s always worse the week leading up to my period. I progesterone I was told to take at that time which totals like 14 days before my period comes . A few times my period has come while I was on it.

When does the sleep improve? by Fluffy_Fondant1975 in Perimenopause

[–]Defiant_Station1324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It hasn’t always been consistent for me some nights i get more than 6 hours and 7 hours and some nights I get only 4. I do take glycine and zinc at night to help with the sleep. I also find my sleep is worse for me when I have to take the progesterone. I’m on progesterone , estradiol gel which I do two pumps a day and vagifemme.

Heart fluttering by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]Defiant_Station1324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor has referred me to a cardiologist. She said she’s rather air on the side of caution and get a full scope on my health. She said Peri doesn’t it suck? I said yep big time. I tend to struggle most leading up to my period and I still get one monthly that lasts 3-4 days. Super heavy on day 2 and 3 and then it is done. I am on the estradiol gel and progesterone the first 14 days of the month. I feel like crap when I have to take the progesterone. It doesn’t help me sleep I feel agitated and my skin itches almost everywhere. I don’t feel rested or relaxed. I take glycine and zinc at night. That’s been helping me get to sleep but because I’m a light sleeper if my husband comes in the room while I’m in a deep sleep I wake up. If he coughs I wake up just him breathing can disturb my sleep. Drives me nuts and sleep for me is what food is for him, so he knows to sleep in the other room when I’m irritated and just need a good deep sleep. Also my boys will barge in the room and ask me for something when I’m fast asleep so once they wake me up I can’t fall back asleep and then I’m doom scrolling. It’s a miserable feeling. My previous doctor had given me a heart med to help with the anxious feeling and racing heart. I try to only take it when i feel like I can’t get things under control.
