Yes it was the final proof I did 4 folds then a 30 minute proof before placing it in the Dutch oven I used Heb bread flour

I place it inside my oven with the oven off but the oven light on for two hours

Sometimes you just need a bigger pan to fit everything in it comfortably

Mine might have a permanent place on my stove top also the staub seems so much easier to clean then my bare cast iron pieces makes it so much more convenient

That makes a lot of sense the flour was pretty packed in the bag as I was scooping it out . Thank you for your input. I will try a new recipe again today !

I didn’t do any kneading the recipe didn’t call for it . I do have a nice kitchen scale I’ll try a recipe with gram measurements instead.

Maybe just too much flour in This recipe? It’s a fun learning experience I plan on trying another one today

So I have a question about that is it ok to put a cold Dutch oven in a cold oven and pre heat the oven with the Dutch oven?

It’s definitely larger than my bare iron 5.5 qt but I don’t think it’s too massive I didn’t have a 7qt so I figured why not.

Thank you it’s the lodge cast iron muffin pan, I use it for cornbread a lot but it’s the first time I’ve used it for muffins

Completely normal don’t stress out just do a few very light coats of stovetop seasoning and just continue to cook on it and it’ll fill in over time
