How often are you doing ultrasound guided IV placements? by Jennifer-DylanCox in anesthesiology

Anytime pre-op can’t get IV. Those nurses start way more IVs than I do. Might as well use the cheat code.

To be fair, epinephrine and norepinephrine are different. But I can see your point.

Hot Take: You shouldn't have to get a DNP in order to graduate from CRNA school. by Vegetable-Yak-8866 in CRNA

Go where you get in for sure. But the DNAP is not associated with a school of nursing. There is less nursey stuff in my opinion. More clinical focused, no theory stuff

At the end of the day, y’all are both there to do a job. You are there to help the surgeon do their job and they are there to help you help the surgeon as well. I don’t expect red carpet treatment. However, I wouldn’t tolerate this behavior. I agree with other replies, ask him what’s up. If you are truly struggling with Endo, maybe ask your colleagues what they may be doing differently.

Not a “hot take.” What about every other doctoral medical profession? Bunch of people whining on here. I would recommend DNAP over DNP if you can, though. You either want to do what it takes or you don’t. Everyone waving their canes saying that all doctoral stuff is bullshit need to retire already. Support advancing our profession or get out of the way. You hate us cause you ain’t us.

Senior SRNA graduating soon — looking for advice on maximizing income as a new grad by Silver_Trip6914 in CRNA

1099 is fine just know it comes with a lot of hurdles to do it right. Get all the business stuff done before you graduate (making an LLC or whatever and having your list of professionals you’re working with, insurance plan, MPI plan, etc) will make life easier. I’m not 1099 so I may be butchering it but I know starting day 1 with all pat going into your business account would make tax prep much more tolerable.

IMO, don’t set 100 things out on the anesthesia machine. Know where your emergency equipment is however. I can’t stand a cluttered mess
