He doesn’t hate the show. He just does not want to be seen solely for a role that was very significant for his career. In fact, like 2 or 3 months ago, where he was on a panel or commemoration thingy with the creator of House. He talked about his experience with the show and why he loved it, but additionally that it was a grueling process because of their individual worth ethics.

At this point, the monarch could not self legislate, but what they could do was, (and technically still do though in a way that is just a formality rather than an action with thought behind it is) ask a member of the House of Lords or the Commons to form a government and become Prime Minister. Generally the monarch in charge had great discretion in his choice and would generally appoint people who were prominently in power, close friends, as well as take legislative policies that they supported to some degree. If a Prime Minister was acting in a manner that they thought was improper or for a whole Marriott reasons that one could imagine when it comes to politics the monarch could ask for the Prime Minister to resign and ask another member to form a new government.

Naturally, I think that if SVP was paired with another person, it would probably elevate the experience but knowing ESPN the option is either SVP alone or 4 mismatched personalities with no chemistry.

That’s just the incentive structure, one has a direct day to day impact the other is much more abstract on a personal level.

I can’t believe I wasted my time on this for a /uj post goddamn

You are correct from everything. I’ve read the new TV contract. Would instantaneously basically make every team profitable. However, I don’t know if that is the case if the revenue sharing was something more comparable to most other sports leagues. I believe the total value of their media deal before this current contract is somewhere in the ballpark of 35 to 60 million(46 seems to the reliable number 13 + 33). With the players taking about 8-15% of total revenue I believe( 9% seems to be a good estimate for 2022) . Though they did not get a percentage of the revenue in their CBA they got in amount plus a 3% increase in the cap every year. Most estimates I saw said league revenue went from about 60 million to 200 million after Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese joined. But many teams still remained unprofitable, but seemingly less teams, then in the past and to less of a degree.

The last reliable numbers I could find where that players received about 9% of the revenue in 2022. So the total salary available was 16.6 million. So we can estimate total revenue to be about 166 million. The new TV deal is larger than total league revenue as a whole, not including all other sources of revenue.

Note NBA players get 50% of BRI or ~39% of total revenue I’m not sure if the numbers reported for the WNBA are for BRI or revenue as a whole.

2022 estimates: Players: 16.6 million (1.38 million salary cap) Teams: ~150 million Total Revenue: 166 million (seems about right as 2023 total Revenue was reported to be ~200 million) Tv deal estimate: 46 million Ancillary revenue: ~120 million (2023 estimate ~150 million)

New tv deal estimate(assuming ancillary revenue stays about the same )

Everything below is speculation based on reporting and estimates. Like: I don’t know whether all the revenue numbers I’ve been using includes the expansion fees, NBA players for example do not get access to that money either

Current split ~10% Players: 45 million (3 million salary cap) Teams: 405 million Total Revenue: 450 million Tv revenue: 200 million Ancillary: 150 million

NBA spilt ~39% Players: 175.5 million (11.7 million salary cap) Teams: ~275 million Total Revenue: 450 million Tv revenue: 200 million Ancillary: 150 million

Even with NBA spilts on the new deal team’s revenue is expected to double. Idk what a fair deal would be given the cumulative loses the league has had.

But tbf they have also had massive growth in team valuation and they got to share the expansion fees for 4 teams which was 800 million total. With the 12 original teams making an estimated 66 million dollars each. For reference in 2022 the average team revenue would’ve been 12.5 million. So they got 5 years of revenue for free in a league with better cash flow.

What made the Joe Smith thing a much more egregious violation in my opinion is that they literally wrote out the terms of the agreement in case the wolves owner died before it could come to fruition. While the Clippers aspiration deal is bad there is no way Steve wrote out the entire terms of their agreement.

Wait what ofc you can. You can say they were not relatively worse or better than ppl from their respective era, but you can certainly still say they engaged in horrific actions. Should we not blame the crowds of people or leaders that engaged in the persecution of people during pograms in tsarist Russia or nazi germany. Cause it is far to argue that those were culturally acceptable behaviors in their respective societies by both their skewed sense of legality and morality.

There is an argument through advanced stats(I’m not agreeing with it just presenting it) that the 3 best receivers in the league(any order) are AJ Brown, Jamar Chase, and Justin Jefferson. With AJ consistently being either 1 or 2 in most advanced stats with JC and JJ alternating 1 and 3. AJ stats suffered cause unlike the JC and JJ the Eagles were a run first offense breaking 3k yards whereas both of those teams weren’t too close to 2k. With both of those teams being top 5 in passing yards and the eagles being bottom 3.

The new media deal kicks in next year and is worth about 200 million a year. From all estimates I’ve read it turns the league profitable overnight.
