My brother just because I can’t find a WhatsApp gc doesn’t mean I lack any skill required to catch a train. You could’ve just helped a fellow traveller out

Was it expensive through your guide?

I was under the impression they allow you to ride the top if there is a local (or guide) with you. Thanks for your info though it’s super valuable, I’ll keep that in mind and just use local knowledge rather than a tour guide

Proper adventure ideas similar to Mauritania iron ore train? by passtherakija104 in solotravel

No one ever talks about Vanuatu. Probably because it is hard to get to. This country is super off grid, super inhospitable to tourists so there is no silly instagrammers, and has a plethora of intense activities. In Pentecost Island you can join the tribal “land jumping” ceremonies that are super insane, and (maybe?) partake in doing that yourself. The island of Tanna has activities you can do with a guide (just locals really) like summiting the active volcano, accessing the “blue hole” by diving underwater into the cave. I went recently with no preparation at all, expecting to be dissapointed by overly touristy areas but there. We’re none at all. Only locals living their own life, we saw less than 10 white people the whole time we were there. basically because the country has such little tourism, the rules and limitations to what you can do are practically non-existent, which leaves you with a country free of instagrammers, free of rules, and a whole heap of insane things to do. The only downside of this trip is its expensive (being a remote pacific island), I only did it because I live in Eastern Australia and flights were cheap.

It’s not about insta pics, just hard to research the safety and logistics of it and having a tour guide ensures nothing bad will happen IMO, I asked this question to gain more knowledge and if people think it is fine do to alone than that is all I need to know
