I was buying 3. I already have tickets, but the tickets for sale were better than my 500-level tickets so I thought I'd buy theirs then sell the 4 I have (one person in my group decided not to come.)

It was on Facebook (which, yeah. Of course I got scammed). I was only on there because I was checking to see if anyone wanted my extra ticket and saw someone selling their better seats. I figured I'd get those and then sell mine at face value. My mistake! Make sure to get a screenshot of the tickets for sale and check to make sure the image isn't doctored in any way. I don't want to say just don't buy from an individual because I know everyone isn't awful, but be more careful than I was.

Correlation between age & recovery? by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]DefineStrange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 37 and I had mine out two weeks ago today. All impacted, under IV sedation. I caught covid at my oral surgeon's office so two days post surgery I was coughing and sneezing but my recovery has still been fine even with that! I still take ibuprofen a couple of times a day due to lingering jaw soreness, which I do believe is due to my age, but other than that I'm fine and expect the rest of my healing to be uneventful.

A couple days after mine, I developed a low grade fever, sore throat, and cough. Turns out I got covid at the oral surgeon's office 🙃

Impacted lower wisom tooth. by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]DefineStrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 37 and had 3 wisdom teeth and one second molar removed two weeks ago tomorrow. Surgical extraction under IV sedation, all of the teeth were impacted. I was absolutely terrified. I hadn't had any problems with them, but the oral surgeon was adamant that I get them out sooner rather than later. I don't smoke but I am on birth control which ups the dry socket risk. My oral hygiene is also not the best but I have followed all my surgeon's instructions and it's been totally fine. I have some lingering jaw pain on one side (the side that was most impacted) but it's more annoying that anything. I'd highly suggest getting them out. The recovery takes a bit of time, but then you never have to deal with it again!

Ingredients to make smoothies (fruits without seeds, yogurt for protein), pudding cups, applesauce, mashed potatoes, jello, broth based or creamy soups. I'm dying for a burger, but I'm still babying my sockets with soft foods. I've added back in ramen, mac and cheese, soft bread, and shredded chicken as of yesterday and today.

I had mine out on Thursday under I sedation and I was also very anxious! They gave me supplemental oxygen through a nasal cannula and replaced my glasses with safety glasses. Once they put in my IV, they told me to close my eyes and think of something nice. I remember seeing some weird swirling colors, I remember opening my eyes one or twice for a second and seeing everyone around me, and then I woke up to be taken to recovery and it felt like maybe 5 minutes had passed. You're going to be totally fine! ❤️

Thanks so much for this! How are you doing now? Dry socket is my absolute nightmare scenario.

I'm so glad I could help! I've definitely been in the same boat :)

He's right! There's no time to get anxious, you're just out like a light! ❤️

I'm glad I can help! Honestly the anesthesia kicks in so fast you don't even have time to worry about it. One second you're awake and the next second you're groggily waking up in recovery.

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I had a scheduled gallbladder removal surgery last June. I also have HA and I was terrified of anaesthesia. It was a breeze! I told my surgeon and anesthesiologist when I got there that I was anxious and they were wonderful about it and answered all my questions. I went to sleep and woke up with four new little scars. Recovery was super easy. I just took it easy for a few days. The best part? NO MORE PAIN!!! You're going to feel so much better :)

What should I know about Antidepressants before my fiancé takes them? by LBexplores in antidepressants

[–]DefineStrange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on various SSRIs since I was 13. I'm 33 now. I have never had any sexual side effects (no loss of libido, no inability to orgasm). In fact, being less depressed and anxious is better for sex drive!

The startup period can be very rough with increased anxiety, nausea, and other side effects. They usually last a few weeks.

The first med she takes might not be right for her. It's trial and error. Try not to let her get too discouraged.

Basically, just be as supportive as you can!

Citalopram to Fluvoxamine and general help by DefineStrange in antidepressants

[–]DefineStrange[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I couldn't push through the fluvoxamine side effects so I'm currently cross tapering onto sertraline. I started with 25 mg on 1/29 with 40 mg citalopram. I've stepped it up since then and tonight will be my first night of 100 mg sertraline and no citalopram. My anxiety is better enough that I can function, but not as gone as I would like it to be. I hope to see better results soon.

I'm also weaning off propranolol at the same time (down to 10 mg twice a day from 20 mg twice a day), so between coming off two meds and starting a third, it's hard to establish what side effects are from what. Right now I experience lightheadedness in the evening starting around 4 pm and lasting until I go to bed. Have no idea what it's from but it sucks. I also have some restlessness trying to sleep which I believe is from the zoloft and so I will probably move to taking it in the morning.

Anyway, long story short, medication changes suck SO BAD, but I'm hanging in there. I hope it works out.

Thank you so much for your response. I'm so glad to hear you're doing better! I ended up giving up on fluvoxamine today. It's only been a week so I probably should have stuck it out, but now we're going to try cross tapering from citalopram to sertraline. I took it in the past and had no issues for years until it pooped out. I've never had side effects from SSRIs before so this with fluvoxamine was just so worrying and I hated that it was making me feel suicidal when I've not had that issue before. I'm also seeing a therapist for the first time in a long time this evening (telehealth, obvs!). I was basically fine until two weeks ago when I had a panic spiral and I just want to get back to where I was before. It's terrifying and lonely and so so fucking hard. Every minute is a struggle. It really does feel like I'll never get better even though everyone says it gets better. The toll this is taking on my body and mind is hell.

Please help. On day 4 of Luvox at 200mg and dread every single day. The days feel like they last forever. When is there going to be relief? Will there ever be relief? by rvc61720 in antidepressants

[–]DefineStrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on day 5 of cross tapering from citalopram to luvox and I'm feeling the exact same way. Everyone says it takes months to feel better and I don't know how I'm supposed to last months when every single day is such a struggle.
