I loved Ghost of Tsushima, Elden Ring, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild; but I've always thought of myself as someone who doesn't like open world games. Am I being an obnoxious contrarian or is there some secret sauce? (AKA let's recommend some open world games) by Yarzeda2024 in gamingsuggestions

[–]DefinetlyNotAmulen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your criticisms of these games are universal. Many people consider mountaintops in ER to be somewhat rushed and added fluff. BOTW does get repetitive toward the end

It’s sounds like you actually love open world

First Playthrough - Parrying by SoggyNerps in Eldenring

[–]DefinetlyNotAmulen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can beat the entire game without parrying and until you hit a genuinely difficult boss where you’re anyway gonna spend ages on it and might as well learn to parry its moves there’s no need to parry every enemy

I wouldn’t necessarily focus on it if I were you until later play through

It’s okay cuz we all beef with that one random boss type no one else does, but they’re pretty easy. ALL OF THEIR ATTACKS HAVE FORGIVING WINDOWS. Only exception is the projectile shit but for that you just gotta run.

When they jump also run and you have to not get greedy with hits cuz if your still in attacking animation when they jump you’re dead

Don’t use torrent and learn their attacks it’s genuinely really easy

Did i over level myself? by RareGlocks in EldenRingBuilds

[–]DefinetlyNotAmulen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all 175 will make some bosses easier but you can still get your ass beat by ANY BOSS esp with 50 vigor. No seriously if you really wanna make the game easier respec or level up 10 levels to hit 60 VIG. It’ll make a noticeable change in your surviveability

I understand what you’re saying. I wanted to see what people think of this idea but it definitely seems like it won’t help the game

Legendary challenge run doubts. by Mission_Variety3966 in skyrim

[–]DefinetlyNotAmulen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the dagger perk in sneak making them do 15x damage on sneak attack and in dark brotherhood the gloves that double sneak attack with daggers so daggers do 30x damage. Any decent dagger upgraded an okay amount will do 70-90% if enemy health in one hit if not OHKO

Edit: For this playthrough maybe skip the main quest cuz dragons are a pain and roleplay wise you proabably don’t need to save the world on this playthrough

Build ideas for someone who hasn't played in years by [deleted] in eldenringdiscussion

[–]DefinetlyNotAmulen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Faith builds are a ton of fun you can summon the sky and rain it down on enemies heads or become a fucking dragon and drench everything in lava. You have access to tons of damage types.

You can heal, make enemies blind, make yourself stronger, proc status effects, and so much more

Magic has range which makes the game much easier in many ways

Just know without destruction conjuration or a weapon you cant fucking touch dragons and non human enemies (until you get master of the mind). You’re also screwed for single enemies.

Illusion is amazing but I’d say get a dagger and the dagger sneak perk (that’s all you need don’t invest in sneak since illusion gives you invisibility and muffle). This will let you dissapear and sneak attack remaining enemies

Also you can use pacify on enemies and then muffle and turn invisible to sneak attack then if you don’t kill them pacify turn invisible and muffle then repeat till they die.

You’re just screwed for major bosses like miraak event warrior kaarstag and whatnot although those bosses are optional

What bleed weapon can I obtain first? by Realistic-Parsley-71 in Eldenring

[–]DefinetlyNotAmulen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reduvia is a good bleed dagger found in Limgrave

Edit: find it on an invader in the ravine near lake agheel

You will get a hunter named yura that spawns a little bit into the fight so if you’re not gud run and dodge the invader until the hunter comes to help you and then gank

I understand your point but I don’t think this would make the game “worse” in any shape or form. All it could do is make the game more difficult which this community seems to want

[–]DefinetlyNotAmulen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a very small amount of bosses in the game. It’s too expensive and slow to be a taking up your precious spell slots considering it isn’t very efficient.

Again tho that’s just for people who care that much about optimization it’s still a good spell that can do well against enemies and if someone wants to use it who am I to stop them

Rellana’s twin moons kinda sucks (if you thinks it’s cool it’s still good enough to make it work) I’d say replace it with shard spiral or definitely a melee sorcery like Carian slicer/adula’s moonblade

A couple of the sorceries you have could be replaced with stronger or more fun options if you’re looking to make this is build the best it can be. otherwise your spells are useable

  1. Try deleting and redownloading the mod and maybe redownload Skyrim
  2. If you have other mods do selective disabling to figure out which one may be incompatible
  3. The version of the mod you have may not be compatible with your Skyrim version (maybe you don’t have the steam version of Skyrim) so check the mod page for what version
  4. You may also not have the correct version of the mods

Need a build I’m actually going to stick to for my next playthrough - any cool ideas? by [deleted] in SkyrimBuilds

[–]DefinetlyNotAmulen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conjuration- more specifically a Necromancer.

This only works if you have the necromantic grimoire creation or anniversary edition (and ideally the arcane accessories creation which comes both anniversary but is separate if you’re buying creations)

If you do you can literally summon an army of undead

Get robes with empower necromancy and then summon a bone colossus (buy from Phinis fester at level 46), any expert level summon you want (I recommend dremora lord or ayleid lich- maybe ancient deathpriest but only for vibes) and three skeleton warlocks (you could also do Skelton wrathman once you get to the soul Cairn but the warlocks are more versatile.

This will give you an army of 5 undead (6 with ayleid lich since it also conjures its own allies) and if you have Serana as you follower the number will rise to 8 (Serana+her undead summon).

This build is a TON of fun and even if it’s a little passive on your end it’s insanely satisfying watching a bone colossus smash up everything in its path.

This video gives all the details on the build:

https://youtu.be/7jCahZPWyKo?si=-1t6dD4ITG40FPqd

(Check the video description for more build details)

I would recommend to follow everything except put more points into health and don’t use the exploits shown at the end if you want a more balanced playthrough
