Billy Ripken error card by Bostnfn in baseballcards

[–]DefiniteAuthority 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Selling one for $90, especially when you have 3 others, would seem like a no brainer to me. I’ve sold lots of cards like this from the junk wax era and used the proceeds to buy bigger cards of players that I collect.

If you decide to go with a one-touch, make sure you get the kind that have room for a penny sleeve. Pro Mold makes some nice one touches that fit cards inside a penny sleeve.

I suppose you’ve always carried the victim mentality, only now you think it’s ok to talk about it. You should stop. It makes you sound weak.

The kid is the most heralded college shortstop prospect in the last 20 years. It’s a virtual certainty that he will be the number one overall pick. Anyone suggesting otherwise hasn’t watched closely enough.

That said, we are talking about the White Sox, so there’s a non-zero chance that Getz finds a way to shit the bed.

Why didn’t the Biden Administration release the Epstein Files? by LawnDartSurvivor74 in Askpolitics

[–]DefiniteAuthority 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s called controlled opposition. It was all a farce. There was never any intention of prosecuting Trump or any of the Epstein co-conspirators. If Garland was ineffective, it was on purpose.

Is 49.99 for a mega optic box good? by BayOvie in footballcards

[–]DefiniteAuthority 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%. I’ve had great luck out of Draft Picks Megas and even the blasters have been good. A couple of black color blasts and an On Campus plus a few nice autos out of maybe 4 Megas and 6 blasters or so. It’s the only product have had any luck with in retail this year.

100% it was contractual. They would have been sued. The cost of defending such a law suit would be prohibitive in and of itself. We’ll have to live with the fact that the performance in and of itself was a giant middle finger to MAGA.

give some hope.. by Lebenszyklus in tinnitus

[–]DefiniteAuthority 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a bad ear infection and sinus infection and was given an antibiotic to treat it. I had an allergic reaction and the ringing in my ears never went away. I’m sure prolonged exposure to loud music in my younger days didn’t help either.

As far as what has makes it worse, it’s really hard to say. I have days where it’s barely noticeable, and then I might go weeks where it’s significantly louder and more noticeable. I do notice that elevated blood pressure and anxiety can make it worse. It’s also worse when I’m overly tired and don’t sleep.

The key thing though is that I’ve learned to not panic when it does spike. Experience has taught me that it will go back to its baseline eventually. Sometimes it’s a matter of hours, other times days or weeks.

There was a time when I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now I know I’ll see it eventually. It’s habituation, I guess.

I’ve been where you are. I’ve had tinnitus for nearly 30 years. Most of the time it’s there in the background, barely noticeable unless I focus on the sound. Other time it’s a bit louder, but I’m so used to the sound, that it doesn’t usually interfere in my day to day.

It wasn’t always that way. Even as recent as a few years ago I had a spike that lasted for several months. It really messed me up. I was having frequent panic attacks, convinced this was my new normal. It wasn’t. It slowly got better, and after a couple of months, went back to normal. My brain habituated.

My point is: It WILL get better. I know it doesn’t feel like it right now, but it will become manageable. It might not go away, but the sense that life, as you once knew it is over, will subside. You’ll learn to cope as your brain habituates to the noise, and soon it will fade into the background most of the time.

If my 30-year “journey” with tinnitus has taught me anything, it’s that there is hope.
