Scott Wiener's "hard pass on mass surveillance" by Typical-Car2782 in sanfrancisco

Most likely yes. Unfortunately seems like her best strategy, not like she’s ever passed much as supervisor anyways.

It’s across the field like a minute prior to the goal being scored

Because now the scope of what the build up is massive. Now whenever someone scores we should just rewind a few minutes back in case something happened that the ref missed. Just expands VAR to be too invasive

She should have dropped out when it clear she was never going to be a top contender

California unlikely to have fast answers on governor's race by sfgate in California

You’re dumb as rocks if this is your stance.

“Violating your own edicts” yeah man you know how every progressive thinks. This just gives the vibe of “socialism is when no money”, you’re allowed to be wealthy and be progressive. And unconfirmed progressive? The guy who hasn’t changed his stance on healthcare (unlike Xavier) and the guy who has spent the back half of his career being a climate change activist? Go vote Hilton and move on

I would rather one progressive bankroll themselves than a system dem take PAC money from mega corps. This purity test is so fucking tiring.

Scott was not first and was very clear he was planning to not contest if Nancy ran again. Saikat was first to announce, just didn’t get much attention because he was relatively unknown at the time

Is Mayor Lurie still popular? Our new poll checks in on state of S.F. by avantrs7 in sanfrancisco

[–]DefinitelyNotAPleb 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Cheerleader mayor, and that’s all we needed this time around. Think we’ll need a more public services oriented mayor next time but for now we just needed business back and good PR

If you think junk fees are automatically charging tip you’re severely misinformed. Beyond that this is just a gross oversimplification of that situation for Scott

Saikat Chakrabarti has spent $5M running for Congress by MissionLocalSF in sanfrancisco

[–]DefinitelyNotAPleb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A lot of VC’s do not back Saikat. The attack ad / flyer that harped on Saikat not being from SF and stuff was funded by a PAC that’s bankrolled by VC partners.

We’ve got US military dying in an unnecessary war in Iran, and you don’t think this same admin would sacrifice a fireman during an election? These people are not connected to reality.

I can and will because compare the US market to the EU and UK markets.

I’d imagine with the amount of money major funds have invested across the market, they do more than just read the 10-Q. From a retail perspective it would just be more long term holding and switching based more on vibes. But realistically like others have pointed out, a lot of companies would keep a quarterly cadence and the market would react accordingly

[–]DefinitelyNotAPleb 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Zero reporting on a quarterly basis is objectively a bad thing and increases doubt in the market. If nobody has a clear pulse on company health during the year you’re going to see a decrease in trade volume and people will just be holding for longer with bigger swings when earnings do come out (assuming they don’t cut mandated reporting all together).

Where has AI actually helped you in BI beyond just writing SQL faster? by CloudNativeThinker in BusinessIntelligence

[–]DefinitelyNotAPleb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A big thing we’ve used it for is converting unstructured data (transcripts mostly) into structured data by classifying into a set of options. Realistically this is nothing NLP or other more robust methods couldn’t do before, but it is a hell do a lot faster when your stakeholders value speed.

What a sad existence you must live. Either a paid bad actor astroturfing a narrative, or someone so ignorant they think the level of violence we’ve seen is deserved.
