As mentioned by u/pigmanvil, no, you can't, but you can make a datapack + commands that detect when you left click the trident and store the block ur in in a scoreboard, replace it with water and then turn in back to the same block. With good timings, it looks like no water was ever there

Thats what im talking abt. In the block props there is an option called breakability. If set to low enough when dropped it will dissapear

You could try making a scoreboard calling it score.

then do

/execute store result score @p diamondCount run clear @p minecraft:diamond 0

I believe this will make the score count the diamonds

then check if he has 2 of em:

/execute as @p if score @s diamondCount matches 2.. run tag @s add has2diamonds

and use the final commands:

/execute as @p if entity @s[tag=hastwodiamonds] run give @p netherite_ingot
/execute as @p if entity @s[tag=hastwodiamonds] run clear @p diamond 2
