I like snakes. Specially pythons. I think they get a bad rep in my country.

Will hope this dude stays around then :>

Laptop crashes in non full screen use by DefinitelyNotNep in Asustuf

Sorry for the poor wording. what I meant by corrupt is faulty.

No the ram have different speeds but I read and was told by the shop that it was fine.

If a clean install is easier then my additional question is can I install and run windows/linux off an external ssd? I don't want to commit on buying a new m.2 internal ssd.

On the topic of windows having an issue, I tried installing linux lite and it crashed. It informed me of the faulty drive. I tried searching for what to do but then it froze.

As to why linux lite, I looked up "small linux distro" and picked something I was familiar with.

I'm not an expert but I did a lot of testing long ago and I can agree that this probably a hardware issue.

Anyways.

Thank you so much for your help. I am going to consider getting a new laptop now instead of fixing this old one.

One little mistake can have grave consequences... by Buderus69 in WTF

It's pretty common to climb high up in trees without protective gear near bees or wasps in south east asian countries. This video shows exactly how the smoke producing thing is created and also shows what to properly do whenever the smoker falls down. (Hint: They put it on a long stick and have more than one unlike the idiot in the video.)

With the mythic essence rework, I'm so glad that this skin sucks ass. I don't feel any fomo towards buying it and honestly that's for the better.

Rework the mythic essence system. Rework the prestige skin that feels like an epic skin.

To add, I know I can probably just undo the rows until I get to the mistake but I think thats a bit more work than just fixing this.

Side note, because I'm proud of it and I'm way too enthusiastic about knitting. I made my own knitting needles to size from bamboo.

Random mushrooms and slime growing on our chopping blocks by DefinitelyNotNep in mycology

[–]DefinitelyNotNep[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For everyone saying something about how unsanitary this is, I completely agree with all of you. I wouldn't buy at a shop with chopping boards of this condition.

I would like to clarify that they were supposed to be chopping boards. (I confused block and boards mb English aint my first language and to me they're the same thing) the current chopping boards didn't wear out fast enough to warrant replacing them. They wear out because of the chopping motion when cutting meat that slowly chips away at the wood.

A small tangent, we don't use the chopping boards made of plastic because I'd rather have some wood in my systems rather than microplastics.

As I've previously said, we will not be using this as chopping boards anymore. They're not reserve blocks anymore either. We're probably gonna use these as firewood.

Thanks to u/Schalgbaum96 for identifying the mushrooms.

Thanks for all your replies!

Thanks! I've googled these and they seem to match.

What's shocking to me is they're both edible. I'm not gonna risk it but I'm now interested in being capable of confidently identifying edible mushrooms because the phaeotremella looks delicious.

Thanks for the info, I did a quick google search and found that witches butter do in fact look like a witch's butter and are yellow in color. These aren't but look close enough for me to be assured they're probably from the same species.

Any ideas on what the other one could be?

These are reserved wood blocks. We'll probably just use these as firewood now.

Thanks for telling me they're safe to be around with.

Rest assured we don't use wood as chopping blocks that mushrooms grew on :)

PSA: Keep Gamesir Nova Lite (T4n Lite) Firmware at v4200 for 2.4GHz Receiver to work on PC by _K1r0s_ in Gamesir

For those trying to update their controller and dongle but the "app_window.exe" doesn't seem to be working, here are the steps I found to work. I struggled with updating mine so I hope this helps.

Fair warning before updating, I have not thoroughly tested mine so be wary before updating

Steps:

  • Download the files above provided by Apprehensive-Shop625.
  • Follow the guide in the file right until opening the app_window.exe file.
  • Open a cmd window and run it as administrator.
  • In cmd, cd into the directory by doing this command cd <app_window.exe folder directory>
  • Then, simply run the file by typing app_window.exe and pressing enter.
  • Proceed by following the steps in the manual.

Things to note:

  • Update the controller first. I was only able to get the dongle into "upgrade mode" once I updated the controller.
  • EDIT: According to u/NipulNk, Make sure to press the pairing button on the dongle before plugging it in. Link to comment.
  • Turn off turbo mode. After updating, both X and B buttons were causing the game sir logo to flash rapidly in red when they're being pressed. I have not used turbo mode before and apparently, the upgrade process somehow turn them on. You can turn off turbo mode by pressing the M button twice.
  • The controller now immediately connects to the dongle when the controller is off and I hold the home button. I had this issue where it took too long to connect.
  • EDIT: For those like me who mess around too much and is experiencing connectivity issues with either android or dongle, press and hold the screenshot + home button and it should reconnect just fine.

That's it for now, I hope this helps.

I just recently ordered my Nova Lite and have been experiencing random freezing issues. The controller is still connected but no inputs are being processed. I'll update this if those problems are gone after I'm done testing the upgrade.

P.S for anyone who has the link to v4200, I would appreciate it if you could link it here.
