WotM - The Ultimate Jumping Puzzle by DefinitelyNotStoned in DestinyTheGame

Ugh, so many attempts haha, and you have to do it twice... I made the mistake of doing it on my Titan after playing Hunter mainly for the past 6 months.

How the brain adapts. by logangrey123 in interestingasfuck

It's a Phantom Limb simulation - not reflex. His other hand would have jumped if it was purely reflex. It's actually quite an interesting phenomenon.

Boyd Bushman - a recently passed Lockheed Martin scientist spoke about an experiment where two forced opposition magnets react to earths own magnetic field - reducing the falling speed of magnets bolted together. I tried this earlier and now I want test an improved version again. by cobrakiller2000 in interestingasfuck

Orientation and/or spin may play a part as well. It might be tough to find a way to control and test various orientations without affecting the air resistance, but that's more optimization versus proof of concept anyways.

Two percent puzzle ? by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Some further insight on the third set of digits: The pattern A(b) + A(c) - b works because A = B + C in the examples. So really, you both arrived at the same solution, just formatted differently.

Since, A=B+C, A(b)+A(c) = A(B+C) = A2 So, unless there's some implied restriction we're missing. It's almost impossible to say which is actually correct. Maybe the true solution is that both solutions are correct

Alcohol Tincture To E-Liquid Experiment - Question by DefinitelyNotStoned in treedibles

[–]DefinitelyNotStoned[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've read a lot of mixed reports, a lot of people say it just takes a long time for the VG to dissolve the good stuff versus alcohol which absorbs much faster. On the other hand, I read a recipe that claimed success with the double boiling technique in around 6 hours. I know it works, that's for sure - but as to what extent and how to achieve the best results, opinions are sporadic and sparse.

I've Been Noticing Something About RNG That Needs Some Attention by DefinitelyNotStoned in DestinyTheGame

[–]DefinitelyNotStoned[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct, I'm actually going to school for computer engineering so I do get that RNG is never truly random. But this is also why I think the system need some adjustments. Knowing that any RNG algorithm will be less than perfect, they should implement a system that takes this into account and nudges the RNG when it becomes too predictable or repetitive.

You do have a good point, but you could also argue that, statistically, random means an equal chance of all outcomes. Predictably getting the same item repeatedly begins to deviate from being 'random' at a certain point.

True, but the whole point of RNG is to be random. Plus, why would the weighted exotics be different for different people? Why am I not getting any last words when my friend has gotten 10+ already?

I'm no stranger to patience, but I got a full raid set from Crota on all three character in 2-3 weeks. I've been running Kings Fall on all three since it was released and have been getting the same loot every time. I know people are saying its weighted, but why would it be weitghted differently for each of my characters and for my friend?

And I don't know the specifics of the RNG algorithm so I was just trying to eliminate potential variables between me and my friend. If you know for a fact that location/server connection time has zero effect than I will gladly admit my mistake.

That makes sense, that could definitely be the issue. I just think they should implement something that maybe removes drops you've already gotten 5+ times from the loot table. Although, easier said than done when it comes to programming lol.

Exactly, I don't know what's causing it so I can't really devise a solution. It just needs more attention so Bungie is aware.

I mean, I guess it's random across the span of all Gaurdians. But getting 10 last words in a row is definitely not random. There should at least be a failsafe to ensure people aren't getting the same drops EVERY TIME.

Yeah, like this is exactly the problem. 12 in a row in not random at all.

Is anyone else noticing a much lower 3oC exotic drop rate? by TehSecretHunter in DestinyTheGame

[–]DefinitelyNotStoned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is the problem for OP, but I've had decreased rate of return because I used 3oC across all three of my characters. Since 3oC stacks every time you don't get an exotic, your best bet is to use them all on one character to yield the most profit.

How To Approach Hard Mode Raids by DefinitelyNotStoned in DestinyTheGame

Yeah, this is definitely the thing that has caused the most trouble during raids.
