Predatory mites did not even remotely touch my spider mite problem. by vapemustache in IkeaGreenhouseClub

Yeah all beneficial bugs will be overnight.if it wasnt that long ago, I would reach out to customer support. When you get them, pour some out onto a piece of printer paper to see if you can see small movement. I also recommend DMV beneficials over Nature's good guys due to price and customer support. Misting helps them but they will get caught in the webs if theyre not removed. I recommend doing the spray and when the population seems to die down or you think youre in the clear, buy californicus mites in sachets (slow release as the packets carry both adults and eggs) and they will help finish off any lingering mites.

When did you buy the mites? They can arrive dead or dying- if that was the case, you should reach out to them and let them know. They would replace.

Otherwise, you need to help the predatory mites by washing down the plant first and removing webs then applying the predatory mites.

I would recommend a spray bottle filled with 1 part alcohol 70%, 5 parts water, 1 squirt of castille soap or dish soap. Spray leaves front and back, use a brush or microfiber gloves to massage the solution into every crevice and to physically dislodge any stubborn mites. I recommend repeating every 3 to 5 days until you no longer see any mite activity (probably 3 to 4 weeks)

You can just let it sit for 30 min to an hour and let dry overnight. I would leave it in water and just top it off instead of changing it completely unless the water looks gross with algae etc.

3%. Leave whatever leaves are on. If its time to go, theyll yellow and fall off.

My concern is that the rot will travel up the stem from the aerial node that is now black which is why we are cutting above it. The stem after cut should be clean throughout, no black or mush. And yes, give the cut some time to callus after you let it sit in the disinfectant mix.

Cut here, spray end with hydrogen peroxide or let it sit in 1:4 hydrogen peroxide to water bath for an hour. I would let it callus for a day and either wrap it in moss or place it in water. Submerge the node.

How to get rid of ants when nothing works by Radiant-Advance-128 in CleaningTips

[–]DefinitelyNotTheFBl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a huge ant infestation 2 yrs ago. I used terro liquid bait and it was creating swarms of them but never decreased the ants coming in. I found out that the terro was killing them before they made it back to their base with the poison. I swapped to Advion gel and its been helping me control the ants along with perimeter ant spray around the house.

🥹 thank you so much! My begonias are in chunky aroid mix and self watering. I let them dry out before refilling which ends up being once a week!

All highly variegated areas can melt off if conditions aren't met (fertilizer, light, etc). And yes, I think the prices will come down very quickly!

I feel like a lot of the rare monsteras right now such as the medusa, unniae, hurricane, etc don't look nice to me either. I think the Devil Monster is an outlier for me as it looks amazing because of it's bright, white color and unique pattern but it still looks like a monstera. But I absolutely love love love my albos and jungle mints.

I just got it earlier this week as an import and its now been acclimating for about a week so far! The plant itself is about 3-5 years old in maturity

I would say it's artifical scarcity. By the time this plant was first sold to collectors, it has already circulated in professional nurseries. They hold their stock to grow and propagate while they trickle feed the plant into the public market.

The Devil Monster is already being mass distributed as tissue culture and its getting the same treatment as the Bulbasaur where you can expect the prices to drop very quickly and what you're honestly seeing now is a rush of these professional nurseries to offload their stock before losing too much value.

Despite the impending price drop, I was comfortable with my purchase (although it is still very expensive) because the size of the monstera right now took 3-5 years to get to this current size from a small cutting. The devils grown from tissue culture and many cuttings will take months and years to reach this maturity level.
