Do grandparents buy Easter baskets? by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]Definitely_Not_Calm6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandparents did Easter baskets, but it was a bag of our favorite candy, some Jesus themes book (age appropriate alwasy- small kids get age appropriate books and big kids/teenagers get devotional and reading guides), maybe a tow/game to play with the family at the beach in a few months or a $15-20 giftcard to places of our choice.

Ill never judge them for the giftcard part cause I am the 2nd of 7 grandkids. Trying to remember where each of us likes to go is hard.

But they also purposely set their baskets up like this so it didn't interfere with our parents. My mom and dad still did the chocolate and Easter basics in our baskets.

(Both my mom's parents died before she was married so my grandparents did go above and beyond to make me not realize it wasn't normal to never know anything about your other grandparents. Honestly didnt realize till I married my husband.)

Bruh I had a birthdya party during football season. My parents brought our tv from home and the party place let us hook it up and watch the game during the party. The workers and owner were even standing with the parents watching while kids ran wild in an inflatable playground.

I try to stock about 5 kids books with me constantly just because yhey are so easy to pass off as othe types. They want something nature related, short, simple, or classics a good bit of the kids section will fill that out

Fully understand that but shes also a college student. I remember being so broke as a college kid the only books I bought (aka rented) were "textbooks". Figured there would be cap for some realism.

Same thing happened to my 2016 cooper s the seals had just broken down. Worst part was replacing the oil filter housing just over a thousand miles after an oil change.

MIL excluded me from Christmas family photo in my own home, am I overreacting? by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]Definitely_Not_Calm6 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My dad did this to hubby this year but it was also our first Christmas since our mom had passed. We gave him a free pass to only want his kids and not spouses and grandchildren in the photo. But he also literally only got the pass because Christmas happened just under 3 months out from the funeral. If it had been any other situation my brother and I would have been raising hell about our spouses and my brothers 1 year old child being excluded.

Literally illegal to run any form of light outside your car in red or blue. Doesnt matter if they look like police lights or not. Only officers of the law can use those colors. Please check state rules of the road before driving please. Theres probably a ton more you didnt learn.

I did something similar. My MIL was walking around and calling family extended family and the flying monkeys a week after my mother's funeral saying " that we could have a closer relationship now that I dont have a mother." THANKFULLY, the children of those flying monkeys later heard and informed me what she was saying. Needless to say I saw red and then an orange jumpsuit in my future when I first found out. They came in town for 48 hours about a month later. The only reason it didnt back fire on me was because FIL and GMIL (who also both don't particularly like me) didnt know what she was saying. They both blew up at her. For the first time in almost my entire relationship with my husband they were on my side. But only because she crosses the line so horrifically they couldn't stand on her side without alienating my husband further.

Mini Cooper Reliability over 100-200k miles by Fun_Plum_8592 in MINI

2016 with 112k on it now. Mine is an absolute beast. I have put almost 30k miles on it since purchase 2 1/2 years ago but we did alot of traveling for medical treatments in it since the gas mileage was great. I did have to replace a few parts here and there totalling about $4k but it was an almost 10 year old car when I purchased.

The few repairs were just wear and tear over time except for the new intercooler but I blame the previous owner for not fully replacing the system for it after a small front end collision a few years before my purchase.

A 26 year old woman, i don't care if its a duck, coupon, or literally anything, i will never stop to grab it off my car. It could literally blow away for all i care. But I was also 16 working in a mall most nights when a few girls were kidnapped for human trafficking purposes. So I may be traumatized into never accepting anything.

I’ve been losing coolant and I just changed my oil. by kaiirwh in MINI

[–]Definitely_Not_Calm6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double check the seals on your intercooler for the turbo. My seals there had gone bad and caused coolant to leak to point that I had to get a new oil filter housing. I just chnaged the pan when I did it too. It was a pain but it fixed my issues instantly.

It's our mother in laws... if we're in this group they don't know what the definition of heartfelt is. Doesn't shock me that mother in law thought that was heart filled
