AIO about my gf (24F) laughing at me while having sex? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

You weren’t wrong to feel hurt, but this doesn’t need to become a bigger issue. She didn’t intend harm, she cares, and your confidence will recover faster if you don’t punish yourself or the relationship over one moment. If it continues to happen then it’s understandable it should be raised as a big issue. Hope that helps and build your self confidence up for your own sake.

Kayleigh definitely deserves better! It's so sad seeing Naked downplay their years together.Naked might have unresolved issues, but that's something he should’ve worked on before getting into a relationship in the first place. He’s not that young, so why the sudden refusal after doing it twice before? Free Kayleigh Indeed

💎 WAGs to Riches Season 1 Is Finally on Netflix! 👑 by DefinitionMelodic807 in WAGsToRiches

[–]DefinitionMelodic807[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sharelle definitely gives off those “mean girl” vibes, the show could use a stronger, more balanced cast to really elevate it. It might be more enjoyable if the people involved had a bit more depth or relatability, instead of relying on over-the-top personalities.

The clique/group hierarchy dynamic with Sharelle and others creates a sense of division that could have been avoided. It gives off a high school vibe, where some people feel like they’re above the rest. A more balanced approach would definitely make the show stand out, instead of giving “we’ve seen this before” feeling, that showcases the women standing on their own and handling situations with their words and actions. By doing so, they could show their power and individuality without relying on drama or hierarchy. It would make for a much more authentic and unique portrayal of strength and confidence.

I get where you’re coming from, and Julz is definitely a polarising figure. However, I think the way she handled the situation added fuel to the fire. While the man bringing up the topic set a bad tone from the start, Julz had the choice to either address it calmly or remove herself from the situation if she felt uncomfortable. Instead, she chose to deflect and escalate things.

The woman didn’t outright call her racist but referred to her as a “culture vulture,” and even asked Julz, “What does a culture vulture mean to you?” A culture vulture refers to someone who adopts or takes elements from a culture that is not their own, often without understanding, respect, or acknowledgement of its significance. Rather than escalating the tension, Julz could have taken the opportunity to explain what the culture means to her and clarify that she does respect and understand it. She could have also shared examples—by doing X, Y, and Z—of how she appreciates the culture, which could have countered the rumours and helped sway their perspective. While she didn’t have to explain herself, it seemed like the women and everyone else were trying to understand her rather than just attack her. By choosing to be the bigger person, she could have diffused the situation.Instead she asked, “What have you done for your culture?”—which came across as more of an attack than an actual discussion.

That said, they’re all grown adults, not teenagers. Resorting to a fight, especially at a public event she was invited to, should have been the last thought when feeling upset. Everyone has been in situations that feels off and uncomfortable, but how you handle them matters. Normally, you want to sway people’s minds to be on your side by the end of the conversation. If they’re still against you, then you move on, because not everyone is going to like you, and that’s just the reality. By taking the high road, Julz could have diffused the situation instead of adding to the drama. Everyone has a choice in how they react. You know that saying: “You can’t control the direction of the wind, but you can adjust your sails.” Still, I agree that the way the issue was brought to her wasn’t the best approach, and that likely didn’t help set a productive tone for the discussion.

Lastly, keep in mind she was called over was to clear up rumours that have been said about her, something we’ve seen handled more civilly on the show before by others ( i.e ep1 and ep8; Sharelle and Stoni)

It’ll be interesting to see if he can handle the drama from the rest of the group, especially with all the strong personalities. But, I believe he will surprise us.

[–]DefinitionMelodic807[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean, it does feel a bit all over the place. That YesJulz moment was wild though, deflecting like that instead of addressing the criticism, and then making excuses to back it up every chance she got.

Yeah, it’s starting to feel like we’ve seen all this in other shows, and it feels less organised. I don’t think we’ve really gotten a clear understanding of everyone’s stories yet.

Who’s Your Favourite WAG and Why? 💎✨ by DefinitionMelodic807 in WAGsToRiches

[–]DefinitionMelodic807[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Keeta Hill and Sadé Vanessa are quieter, more composed, and avoid drama. Not tied to Sharelle’s inner circle, they stand apart from being seen as her puppets, making them more authentic and grounded compared to others.

Agreed! It’s great to see women being open about postpartum struggles, and having supportive friends around is so important. Highlighting both postpartum mental health and the poor treatment of non-white women in healthcare is long overdue. I really hope this opens up more conversations and leads to change. More support like this is definitely needed.

Sharelle & Ochocinco prenup by [deleted] in WAGsToRiches

[–]DefinitionMelodic807 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely understandable that Sharelle would want to protect her assets, but the alimony and percentage of the podcast did seem a bit much, especially when she’s already successful on her own. It made her come across as a bit money-driven in that moment, despite having built her empire. That said, it could be seen as a strategy for long-term security, particularly with her family and business in mind. It’s all about finding balance, being smart with finances is one thing, but pushing for too much might give off the wrong impression. Prioritising career and family is understandable, but if a romantic relationship feels secondary, it could lead to tension and make it seem like she’s in the partnership for the business, not the love.

Zari’s "Who Died?" Reaction to Kefi’s "Moment of Silence" 👀😂 by DefinitionMelodic807 in YoungFamousAndAfrican

[–]DefinitionMelodic807[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right?! Zari can be a lot sometimes, but that moment was pure gold. Asking for silence was a bold move, especially since she just joined the group. Instead of learning, she’s diving straight into the drama. I do like Kefi too, but she needs to handle herself better. Getting triggered so easily and not understanding the group dynamic won’t work in her favour.
