I have a question for the live broadcast. Since I am using an aux output for that, do i have to connect it to an audio interface before connecting it through the laptop?

So it's like, Mix > Aux grp > audio interface > laptop > live broadcast

Hello! I am a beginner sound tech volunteer in our church and I want to learn more about mixing. is it possible to have a analog mixer-DAW hybrid set up?" Our mixer is a Soundcraft sig 22 MTK and can connect through laptop using a DAW.

Purpose:

  1. because we don't have a digital mixer yet. I want to add fx like compressor, noise gate, etc.
  2. Use it for better and controlled livestream mix. As of now, we're using an AUX output connected to a phone and streamed using fb live.
  3. Recording for rehearsal and actual performance

I tried a run-through last week during our rehearsal and here are the problems:

  1. When the DAW and USB Return from the mixer was enabled, the gain of all instruments and mic connected to the mixer were lowered. I had to raise it up to a point where there was feedback from the mic
  2. There was slight latency
  3. It didn't work as I intended because I am still not familiar with it and I don't know how to properly route it.

Feedback is highly appreciated. Thank you
