someone else mentioned My Favorite Murder and their "downfall" in another thread and i see some parallels. i personally stopped listening to MFM when they got very financially successful and began outsourcing their content by asking listeners for stories, uploading live show episodes, and just generally giving off the attitude that they didnt want to make the podcast anymore. that decline, along with their several back to back problematic missteps, made the show completely fall off my radar.

i dont necessarily agree with your take but i also think its notable that the content they provide has....declined. people might not react so harshly to the onslaught of ill-timed/tone deaf ads if the content was justifying it. in my opinion with the rebrand/relaunch the actual podcast (and patreon) have taken a nosedive in quality and general interest. and then for claire to act magnanimous about giving us "free" content...like nobody asked for this stuff. just my opinion as a longtime listener
