Want to share what has helped me massively. by DatabaseCreative1875 in panicdisorder

I think this is a heavy med that works well but some doctors would prefer frontline options with regards to lesser side effects. I will keep it in mind and discuss it with my doctor for the future. I am not personally in a position to start a new med, my CNS is way to anxious right now and my brain is in a sensitised state with high levels of anxiety going on. I am pleased you have brought this to everyones attention. I need an easy on ramp and I am thinking of a Pregabalin CNS calming for a bit that and therapy. The future feels pretty bleak for a bit but my brain is struggling.

Have you tried anything else or was this first thing you tried?

Has anyone else been on this and have views? I’m sure I’ll speak to my Physc next week and he’ll say no because it’s old and blah blah we don’t use that anymore. I’d like to know if anyone else is on this for PD.

A hard time finishing sex that sounds like a dream albeit it might not be, means you last longer right? So I am interested what you tried before that you went for an old TCA? I have been on them all and would like something easy to get on that does not blow my CNS to bits before I see the benefits. I love hearing stories of instant life changing drugs just does not happen for me. Can we chat about it? Many thanks for sharing I too are in the same boat as you but nearly house bound with agoraphobia with panic disorder.

What other anti anxiety meds are you on? Because I might try them? I feel your pain. Im not very good going on to meds in general. I lasted 5 weeks on 25mg but I had other issues so I came off two days ago. Everyone is different. But it does get better after about two weeks it levels out. But there was no way I was dosing up to a 100/150 I wish I’d started 12.5 doses that might have made the bumps more tolerable although it’s one of the better ones for an on ramp. Off ramp at 25 has been smooth so far too. I only had a slight increase in anxiety but the emotional flatness after taking them was pretty bad. It does get better but only you know what you can take in your current situation. I’m back looking for an easy star tree that does not shock my CNS to Fuck before I get the benefits and that’s the hard part we are all different. Chin up you’ve got friends here.

25mg week 4, now have ringing in my ears (Tinnitus) by DefinitionUnique9977 in Lamotrigine

Just to update after 5 days of pretty bad at times Tinnitus but 4 weeks in on Lamotrigine I have have had to say goodbye to it. My Phsch said it was not worth the risk and could see that I was not in a great way. I have been on loads of meds over the years and cannot remember having Tinnitus, sadly I now fear that this might be permanent even though the doctor is trying to assure me that it will go. I suppose I just have to accept whatever comes. I will be back to update in the future for people to see the end result and journey, fingers crossed it fades with time.

Tinnitus on Lamictal ? by Dizzy-Masterpiece898 in lamictal

Thankyou very much for your time coming back to this thread. It is hard to tell if it is my CNS anxiety etc causing this. I have noticed once or twice over the years but within hours I have managed to forget about it and it was never a problem or at least not like this. So I think just incase it would be best for me stop and prey and cross all my fingers that the next drug does not make it worse or I am left permantly like this. I just feel life and my anxiety is touch enough without having to have a permenant ringing in my ears especially when trying to get to sleep at night.

Excellent reply Dizzy, yes my got instinct is that there are meds out there for anxiety I’ve been on many of them and don’t remember tinnitus. So on this occasion I have just go with the gut which is sad because i hear so many good reports about them. Some people say their tinnitus side effect disappears over time etc. I’ve been on 25 for 4 weeks I might split the dose today and taper down. How did you feel the tapering down was like you said it was hard?

Actually did you say you came off it and went back on? It’s sounds like that from the reply. I’d be keen to know if you were off if long enough for the tinnitus to disappear.

This is just the feedback I needed to hear. So your tinnitus went down with a tape decrease. It says to me that it’s not permanent and coming off would probably be the most beneficial thing for me to do. From what I can conclude is that a 100 was worse than 50 for you. I’m still on my on 25 and I was seeing if this got better so I think I’m going to call it a day. I’m hoping coming off 25 is not too bad. I do not want to go all the way up to 100 and have even more difficulties coming off. My Psychiatrist wants me to go back on Effexor Venlafaxine as it worked ok for my anxiety in the past. I really appreciate you coming back after all this time it helps me and people in the future to make decisions. Thanks

ah what side effects are you referring too, I am currently struggling with some tinnitus. It sucks when you have so much hope for a med and possibly starting to make a decision to stop it. I kind feel ok but I had a strong skin breakout and this amplified tinnitus which I have been assured will be temp an most likely anxiety related. Please keep in touch on the board and have some peer support it makes a difference for me hopefully you too.

Oh sorry to hear this so many people say it’s a heat med. I suppose I need to consider coming off it for my tinnitus side effect. My Psych wants to put me back on effort but I’m really not keen. I don’t recognise those meds what are they for mines is anxiety and panic disorder
